I love the design but disappointed with quality of threads. very stiff canvas

Although you are given the DMC equivalent, the colours (and certainly the quality) is not a comparable match. As the design comes in 6 panels (with no overlap so your counting has to be very accurate) one of the first cats I started on will be one of the last to be completed. I have bought more thread but it is distinctly different. The paper the design is printed on is very shiny so reflects back artificial light making it hard going to follow at night. The thread is such a poor quality I have bought skeins of DMC to do the back stitch. The cat at the bottom of the design is made up of two different browns and one orange, I had already run low on orange so bought more, the two orange colours are very different, luckily as it is a cat, I allowed myself a little creative licence.

I’ve finally completed this counted cross stitch and I’m delighted with the result. It’s now about to be framed. A lot of effort obviously but well worth it. I have no complaints about the thread quality or the “stiffness” of the fabric. It’s Aida which is what it is, neither cotton nor linen and used extensively for such work. Exactly what I expected and congratulations to the designer for such a beautiful piece.

Am enjoying doing this cross stitch design, great fun to do. Instructions are clear and the materials are much better quality than I was expecting for the price. Very pleased with this purchase.
