This was purchased to replace a cracked plastic bottle of seasoning. It holds around a half cup, depending on what you put in it. The dial turns smoothly. It has a pour option which is good for measuring spoons. Its weight is not too heavy and it fits well in my hand. This is a product that I would buy again.

The shaker I have is no longer available so I ordered this one for giving some of my homemade smashburger seasoning. I like the different size openings on the top on both of them. Mine is of simpler construction but this one seems that it will work fine for the purpose. It has more parts and when you twist the inner top on sometimes the stainless steel cover turns with it. Not a big problem, though, if you pay attention, and the shaker is attractive. The capacity is large. I think it will work well for the recipients.

Somehow, I wound up with a 2.2 lb. cardboard container of coarse Alessi Kosher Sea Salt. It sat in my kitchen cupboard for God knows how long without being used. I first became acquainted with Alessi at Olive Garden restaurants. The tables there have Alessi salt and pepper in grinders - fancy stuff! One day I ran out of regular salt only to find that the Alessi was too coarse to be used in a "regular" salt shaker. It would barely come out no matter how vigorously it was shaken. I searched for an "Alessi" shaker and was astounded at the high cost! Then I came across this one for only $10.01. From the photo, it looked like I could use the larger set of holes. But when it arrived, I saw the smaller set of holes were larger than regular salt shaker holes. Turns out, these were PERFECT for the coarse Alessi. Prior to getting the shaker, I spooned out some Alessi on a plate of pasta and RUINED it. Be aware that REAL salt like Alessi is strong compared to supermarket salt, such as Morton. A lot of people are surprised when I tell them that regular salt is half sugar (dextrose)!Alessi is the real deal. Go back 2 - 3 thousand years, and you will find the salt people are using is pure sea salt, exactly like Alessi. Be aware pure salt, which is so good, contains no iodine and you do NOT want a diet deficient in iodine. I am not pushing Alessi. There no doubt must be other brands of pure salt just as good.

I love that you can adjust them by turning the top of how much you wanna pour you can use the big pepper. It comes out easily. They're easy to clean. They're sturdy and they're easy to fill. I've been looking for good salt And pepper shakers for a while. I really like these. I give it a five star rating.
