Great machine!
Arrived double boxed and in styrofoam as seen in online videos. Not a lot of grease to remove but definitely needs a good wiping down. The aluminum frame is painted well and the chrome plating is decent. No rust as far as I can see. The handwheel is grooved which is nice if one wants to motorize it one day. The machine is pre-threaded with some fishing line-like thread and it appears to sew right out of the box. It is not a swiss-made precision tool by any means but one cannot really expect that from a sewing machine that has to be manufactured, asssembled, and tested for maybe $30 to be retailed for about $120. It is in significantly better condition than I expected and not as rough as I have seen some in videos on youtube. EDIT: Plenty of rust under the bobbin cover but not a technical problem. Makes swiveling the cover hard though. Will remove cover, sand, oil, and replace. FURTHER EDIT: After spending some time smoothing out the bobbin case, bobbin shuttle, and bobbin with needle files and 400 grit sandpaper, getting some bonded nylon upholstery thread instead of the supplied stuff (which is useless IMHO), after dropping the needle bar by about 2mm it now works well, after messing aound with the tension of top and bobbin, and after oiling every metal to metal moving part, it now works! Definitely needs work before it sews but the dollar/performance ratio is awesome.

You get what you pay for
Right out of the box, this machine was a chaotic setup. I kept it as basic as possible, but even then, it was a disaster. The operation was far from smooth or easy, definitely not what I expected. Then again, considering the price, I probably shouldn’t have expected much. The build quality feels cheap, and it just doesn’t perform the way I’d hoped. If you’re serious about leatherwork or sewing, I’d recommend saving up for something more reliable and well-made.

Good vendor for this machine
You are getting a complete machine, and it was shipped in timely matter. It will be a bit oily and seem crudely made , but for the money it’s a working machine! If you never used one before, there isn’t any manufacturer support and bare bone instructions in the box. That said, their is a Facebook group and a ton of YouTube videos to help you. Do NOT take apart without getting instructions and training if you want to sew right away. It’s not easy to time and Aline the machine without instructions, but if go to Facebook group and you’ll find instructions to download there. Once you figure how it works, it is a good tool for hobby types. I happy with this vendor as far as price, and shipping was reasonably quick.

Very Basic. A good start
Assembled the cobbler, not too difficult. I do like it. It is very basic and leaves room for more perks. Later I will mount it more securely and eventually put a motor on . It is complex, but can be used as simple if you want. Excellent value and well done by the supplier. Extra needles, well packaged and oiled. Pre threaded. Obviously the supplier is thinking helpful to the consumer. Nice to enjoy a product that does the job without risking a big $…_

A great machine, but takes some work to get it there
The other reviews have been pretty accurate. The short version is the product arrives in barely usable condition, but if you have any DIY ability you can fix it up and will end up with a functional product for a great price. My machine came with needles and thread, but neither we're appropriate for leather. Many parts needed to be filed and polished. I would recommend buying tools to do that work if you don't already own them. The instructions were in Russian but helpful YouTube videos are plentiful. Styrofoam everywhere. The stand is worthless and I wish they would just leave it out, but building a new one is simple.I do a lot of hand stitching and the look of this isn't quite as aesthetic, but it's still straight and clean and will be a huge time saver. I am also still playing with needle and thread combos as the thread that fits on most easily available needles is ideal for wallets but very thin for belts and knife sheaths and quivers and such. I'm thinking I'll need a #20 needle at minimum for the type of job that I use my normal thread for.

Wished I’d just spent my money on a decent machine
Ok folks, went down the rabbit hole on this one. Yes it was set up correctly and can stitch smoothly. However it is clearly an inferior piece of machinery. I’ve wasted good leather with this machine and almost turned it into a boat anchor. Something always goes wrong. The crude foot damages the leather, even after spring tension adjustment and polishing. Needles bend, thread snaps, I’m over it.

Must buy!!!
The media could not be loaded. This Cobbler machine works good! Never sew on a machine ever, but a few You Tube videos on threading, getting the needle to grab the bobin thread a lil common sense this machine it great for beginners. I now customize Airforce 1's and Jordan's and made 10×'s the amount of this machine
