Best Orchid Bark I’ve Used
I use this in all my plants, and it’s been a game changer—especially for pothos and monstera. I mix it with soil and perlite to create a well-draining medium that keeps my plants healthy and mold-free. The bark is thick, clean, and well-mixed, making it super easy to work with even for beginners. Out of all the orchid barks I’ve tried, this one is hands down my favorite!

Good value, great size
Great value, I use it in a homemade aroid mix and I’ve had no issues. 2 bags for the price offered is amazing, and I will be ordering again. Perfect sized chunks

Good sized bag of fresh bark
Plenty of bark. I was surprised how big the bag was until it arrived. My orchids seem to like it and the bark does disintegrate and provide some nutrients. My indoor orchids bloom twice a year and I only use this bark.

No complaints
I like having this orchid bark on hand as a filler for my houseplant soil mix , and it seems to do it's job as I see it- which is aeration and breaking up my soil for even better drainage. Some pieces are too large and they don't all appear to be made from the same material. Some feel like cork and others like very hard wood- those pieces I cannot break in half when I want to , since not all pots are 10" in diameter. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars, because for my purposes that's the only thing I would change

Yeah, good product.
Great so far. I tried two different type of bark (competitors which I won’t mention here) and all they made was dusty powder bark that got all over everywhere. These chunks are nice although I did find some construction plastic and sticks in one bag. Everything came a little bit damp, so I just dried them out on some potting trays. I was afraid they were gonna mold by the time I actually use them. Surprisingly, I ended up using them right away so all the moisture actually worked out. This bark is currently working well for my orchid which is in a side and bottom ventilated plastic clear pot 6 1/2 inches across the top and is about 2‘4“ tall. My orchid has good long roots and this material lets you pot your orchid so you can see the roots well (so you know when to water). I had issues with root rot before mostly because I couldn’t tell when my orchids needed water and I over watered them.

Perfect for my DIY potting mix!
10/10 recommend. if you don’t have the money to splurge on bark - this is absolutely great quality & AFFORDABLE bark. because - & now i don’t know about you but - i’d much rather spend less & get excellent quality bark. it’s a no-brainer really.i add this bark (or the other bettergro orchid bark that has the charcoal + chunky perlite pieces) to my potting mix that i make myself. i use essentially the same mix (a potting mix + bark + perlite + charcoal + worm castings) for my succulents (i add lava rock &/or sand for them, but i’ve also used the exact same mix with excellent results) & tropical plants - but with my succulents i like to cut the bark into smaller (maybe nickel sized) pieces; my tropical plants get the larger pieces, depending on the size of the pot, of course.this is why i really like this bark. there’s nice big pieces if you need them but you can also make them into whatever size you want/need. does it take more time? sure. but if you’re like me.. then your plant babies are worth it. i’d rather buy bark that’s too big rather than too small. there’s a lot more you can do with bigger pieces.the biggest thing though - this bark is always really great quality. i’ve never gotten a bag that i’ve been disappointed with. there are other brands (i won’t mention names, but the typical cheap brand) and their bark is always… wet… & almost kind of soggy… mushy…falls apart easily - it just seems to be breaking down immediately. i know bark isn’t going to last forever. but if i pot up an orchid, i expect the bark to hold out for AT the VERY LEAST a year, but closer to two really. the other brand didnt even last a year. i’ve had a couple of my phalaenopsis orchids in this bettergro bark + charcoal + perlite + long fibered sphagnum moss for a year; succulents & tropical plants are in their pots for sometimes 2 years; i never have to repot because the bark is quickly deteriorating & not doing its job - with bettergro bark, i always repot because the plant’s outgrown the pot.i recently moved from VA to FL & because it’s so humid here i’m wanting to repot my plants; get the LFSM out of my orchid mix - & i came to amazon to find mybettergro bark! seriously - if you’re on the fence about bark for your orchids or tropical plants, i’m telling you, you won’t be disappointed with this bark. the quality.. i was honestlysurprised. i’ve used expensive brands & honestly, i prefer bettergro bark.. & price has very little to do with it.try it out. you won’t be disappointed.just an extra thought - i wish i could get the dendrobium mix by bettergro! i never see it in stores & can’t find it on amazon.

Just what I was looking for
Nice bark that I added to the loose soil for my Monstera plant. I also layered it on top of the soil making a very nice presentation.
