V4001 Small Block Chevy Polished Fabricated Aluminum Long Bolt Valve Covers SBC 283 327 350 400

Completely unsatisfied. Bought these and left them in the box while I finished my project car. Now they’re out of the box and had a ton of scratches. Figured I’d do what I’d do with any aluminum, sand with 1500, 3000 and then polish. Wrong! A white haze just keeps coming back and my polish keeps turning dark black like they’re heavily oxidized. I’ve been working them for over 4 hours each with no improvement. I also attached a pic of my polished radiator to verify that I can polish metal

These are beautiful. I did have a pin hole leak through on one of the welds but it looks like that’s a total fluke as all the welds look really good. I’ll update based on what the seller decides to do.-Updated - I contacted the seller and said I'd be happy to try to seal the leak if they wanted to offer a discount (easier for me, cheaper for them). The seller questioned if my claims of these leaking were legitimate and stated they didn't believe I had installed them on an engine... That caught me off guard. I'm modifying my review from 5 stars to 1. I expected the seller to let me know this kind of thing is rare and offer an easy solution to stopping the leaks (a product that bonds well to aluminum through heating cycles etc.). Looks like I'll return these and leave this warning for others. You might get a great set! They look great. Like my case, these may have pinhole leaks. I even tried just flipping sides on the valve covers to put the pinhole on the 'uphill' side which would have worked fine until I found another hairline crack in the welds on the other cover. Doh. I still think this might be an anomaly with the welds but who knows.

Great deal on a really nice set of valve covers for my abc 355. Here's my review on them>PROS:-high quality welds throughout.-nice thick aluminum base and materials-design fits 1.6 roller rockers with room to spare-the oil vent splash guard is removable with a small amount of grinding to fit a stud girdle-bolt design put's even pressure across the entire base so no more leaks-1.22" or 1.25" grommet will fit no problem as I tried both.Cons:-get's some polish out because you will need it to keep them clean!

Pleasantly surprised in quality. Perhaps still subpar to other higher costing brands for two reasons: 1-the breather vents are the only access ports to use also as oil fill up which means it takes FOREVER to change the oil and 2-the holes are SLIGHTLY misaligned making removals and installs a little difficult than expected, but they aren’t bad enough that they completely don’t work.

THE VALVE COVERS ARE A DECENT QUALITY FOR THE MONEY , THEY DO LOOK BETTER THEN OTHERS BECAUSE OF THERE EXTRA WIDTH WHICH COMES FROM THE BOLT HOLES BEING INTERNAL THE HARDWARE THAT CAME WITH THE COVERS WAS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME, THE HARDWARE IS CHEAP SCRAP ,, I WENT TO THE LOCAL HARDWARE AND PURCHASED THE 1/4 X20 IN STAINLESS THEN USED A DYE TO CUT MORE THREADS AND CUT THEM TO PROPER LENGTH

Had to cut out the baffles to use with stud girdles but they look nice and dont leak.

The valve covers are professional built. They fit perfectly and the bangles are in a great location The gasket surfaces are very wide for great sealing and the best part is they look awesome and so is the price.

Excellent set of valve covers for the price,...fit my 18 degree DART heads with T+D rockers perfectly with no mods....would buy again,.... maybe offer some with no holes,....sometimes I like to drill my own holes for hose and fitment purposes.....
