Annoying but badly needed to keep my mom safe
I have two more like this but longer for her bed and couch. She’s very forgetful about using her walker, and prone to falling. The beeping drive us all crazy but it helps keep her aware of what she’s doing. This one goes in her recliner.

Serves its purpose
We are pleased with this item. Just know that the pad is sensitive, but it does the job and keeps my dad safe. That’s what matters most.

Patients that wander
I run a senior health facility and this is great for the the few severe Alzheimer's patients we have that tend to wander off ever so often. As soon as the patient sits up, the alarm goes off warning one of our closes that is standing close by. It's small and doesn't seem to bother the patient at all. The alarm is loud enough to alert you, often times scaring you but it's effective if you are trying to keep a close eye on patients that tend to wander.

Beeper did not work
The beeper wouldn’t stop beeping after one week. I have had another similar product that hasn’t had an issue in three months. It’s disappointing that this didn’t work because my husband could suffer a serious fall without my being alerted if he had tried to stand. It will take time to return it and get a replacement. And each day is critical. Seems I’m having some bad luck lately with Amazon purchases. I am very concerned about this one because it is a serious health issue.

I had to return because it would not work for our needs.
If you're looking for a chair alarm that will let you know when they try to get up, if you are in another room, this is probably not what you're looking for. The alarm unit has to be connected to the pad itself to work, even though it comes with a carrying case, which seems pointless. If you are in another room or something and want to be alerted when they are out of your line of sight, you would probably need to have an alarm that you can carry around with you, rather than it having to be connected to the pad itself. Also, worth mentioning, is that the elderly person could possibly unhook the alarm from the pad themselves, and you would never know if they were at risk for getting up and falling.

Safety
Spouse is recovering from hospital stay. Not steady at times. This alarms when he forgets he needs help and reminds him to sit and or reminds me to get to him before he falls. The screw to unlock battery box was too tight and almost sent it back. Got some help and now works fine.

Works as expected. Only problem is sometimes you need to press the button to turn it off more than the three times indicated in the instructions. would recommend this to anyone who has a patient who might get up unexpectedly. This might work really well for anyone who has a sleepwalker in the family. The alarm is very loud.
