E-Z Flow Heavy Duty Air Filter, MERV 4, 20 x 20 x 1-Inch, 12-Pack

Well it was time to replace the filters in the house again. Our unit has three registers and I can tell you that filters can become very expensive overtime. I had a friend tell me about these and for the price it was definitely worth a try. Now these filters may not be the highest quality on the market such has allergens, pet dander, or what not, but they do a very good job at keeping the dust and stuff from being recirculated back into the house. I also believe that the more they are used the better they collect the dirt. If you cant or don't want to pay high prices for a filter that will be thrown away after a few months, then this is for sure worth a try. We haven't noticed anything bad with these filters and we expect they will serve our purpose very well. One thing we did notice is that it allows more airflow through the registers and therefore more air moves across the heating coils heating the house much faster and actually saves on the heating bill. So its a win win

After reading back and forth how a high MERV rated A/C or furnace filter is highly unnecessary, which we've been using MERV 13 for about 9 months now, we decided to try and save money and possible our A/C unit by getting these filters instead.After using this MERV 4 filter for only 2 weeks I definitely made a bad decision on buying the higher rated filters. This filter does the same job and allows almost double the airflow which gives your blower motor a much longer life and gets your house cooler in the summer months faster which is a big plus in the south.We're pretty sensitive to dust and vacuum at least once a week around the 1600 Sq Ft home so to my surprise there was absolutely no sign of any more dust than usual with the much lower rated MERV 4 filter.If you've been using anything else other than these filters, get these instead. MERV 2 filters aren't worth it and barely work to keep dust out of your HVAC system and anything higher than MERV 4 or 5 is definitely a waste since your A/C's filter is designed to protect the unit, not keep your home dust free.These are highly recommended filters for any system, provided they sell the correct size for your unit and if you're using high MERV rated filters and are thinking about these, prepare yourself for the wallet and airflow difference, it is quite shocking!

For whatever reason, the Filtrete filters wouldn't fit in my AC unit properly. Yes, I used the dimensions the manufacturer specified but I still had to kind of bend them and the cardboard frame would tear off when I would take them out to change them. I switched to these and they slide right into my AC unit with no trouble at all. These look more like the "old-fashioned" filters that I remember my dad buying for our AC when I was growing up. Very basic and an excellent price. Every filter got here in good shape and they were well-packaged. Mine are white in the middle instead of blue like the picture but I know that makes no difference whatsoever.I do not have respiratory allergies, though, so I can get away with something "Plain Jane" like this. I don't know how well it would work for those who need something like the Filtrete that might be better for allergies.

Works great and fits nicely. Less expensive in bulk, when compared to individually or in bulk at Home Depot. Also I cannot always find all sizes locally.The last batch I bought through amazon showed up with white filter material rather than blue, and metal trim on both filter sides. That's perfectly fine with me as it makes them a tad more rigid. The material seems just as thick, be it blue or white. I do think the white makes it a bit easier to tell if a filter is prematurely dirty.I use these on two very sensitive Coleman hi-efficiency units. One frequently has issues if I use thicker filters, detecting decreased air intake and not igniting, and the other furnace does it once in a while, so I switched to these thinner filters. I've had the units and installations checked, double-checked an rechecked again and again, with no issues found. So the filters were a God-send to me.These do not snuff out anywhere as much minute particles as does a more dense filter. But they do the job, in general.Overall, good solution, and inexpensive - especially if you regularly change filters any way.

I decided to give these a try as it turned out I started having trouble finding the proper size I needed in the store. We use these in all 4 bedrooms in the ceiling returns for our heat pump. My father-in-law is an HVAC repairman and has told is repeatedly to use the cheap filters and change them monthly. I'd have to say that so far I'm pleased. Turns out the filter material on the ones I got are white not blue like the picture, but I like that better as they don't stick out so much when looking at the ceiling. They are also more rigid than I was expecting with metal on both sides. They fit perfectly in my returns. And as a bonus, I no longer hear any noise from filter movement when the HVAC kicks on and shuts off which is great at night! They seem to filter fine, but the true test for these will come when i start using them in our main level furnace to see how they handle all the dust and dander our two dogs kick up every month.

The filter media in the bulk pack of 12 received is actually off white as opposed to blue as depicted, if that matters to you. But that is very minor and all I have to complain about! Amercan made. Shipped fast and secure as to protect the contents. Better grade than any I have seen in the big box or discount stores for about the same price. The metal "mesh" is on both sides of the media which makes the filter more sturdy. I use the hard to find 14x14 x1 filters as a prefilter on a specific return for my HVAC unit.I like these Flanders filters and will stick to this company for all of my HVAC filters, big and small, from now on. Hard price to beat on AMZN.

Works Ok for our furnace. Like that it came in a case of multiples and was a good price for the lot.
