My little one loves volcanoes, so this was the perfect toy - and there’s no complicated chemicals to mix. All you need is water to activate the dissolving egg inside the volcano, which gives you fizzy red lava and reveals a little toy.Some notes of caution, it will make a mess, so place it in a container or on a towel. We used a plastic shoe box. Also, kids will want to play with the red liquid, which is fine, but it will stain clothes and turn their finger orange. Hands can easily be cleaned with some soap and water.

This is by far the most popular science activity I use with my preschool students as well as my grandchildren. If you have young children, don't even think about it! Just purchase this for your kiddos!!

My son loves this volcano. The pod that comes with it is a pretty good dud but we do the tried and true vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring method and he wants to do it allllll day! He also likes to put slime in it to play with the little aliens as well. The little beaker creatures are cute and fun to play with. I had also purchased the reactor pod maker kit so we make home made ones that I'll hide the little creatures in for him to find again and again. Again the pod is a bit of a let down but the volcano itself is really nice. It's easy to clean and can be used over and over again.

I bought this set for my 4 year old and we had so much fun experimenting! It’s a great value for the price and is super cute! The instructions are easy to read and they give you recipes for 5 different experiments. I would recommend purchasing more extra beaker creatures fizz bombs because the set only includes one and your kids will want more. I liked this set so much that I purchased a second as a gift. I made sure to purchase several extra fizz bombs this time. A great purchase and a great gift! I would highly recommend!

The plastic volcano is made very well & perfect for reusing (what kid doesn't want to do it again). However the eruption pods are terrible quality & barely fizz. You get a much better eruption by pouring water over equal parts baking soda & red Kool aid. Definitely keeping the olastic volcano portion for that reason but would NOT recommend wasting your money on additional pods from them. We've brought several toys from this brand before & usually enjoy them but this one has been the worst yet.

hard to teach kids to do them selves

This was a very disappointing product for a 3 yr old and adult. The pod that was supposed to fizz and erupt does neither. Its worse than a bath bomb. Just colored water.
