Unless you install brakes professionally… Why pay more? This worked perfectly.

If you are doing the brakes on you MK 7 and need to retract the calipers, this works great. It will work on both the front and rear caliper pistons. On the rear, make sure to turn the bolt counter clockwise to hold it against the caliper than turn the handle to push and rotate the piston.On the front, pry-off the GTI logo and it fits in. This is way better than using a C clamp.

this kit is an excellent starter kit for mechanics that dont quite want to spend matco/snap-on money on it. the dies are well made and work well for most applications. my only complaint is that the magnet that keeps the dies attached is not very strong and they fall off.

I have replaced brakes for almost 30 years. I always used a C-clamp and a block of wood to compress the piston(s) when replacing disc brakes. A couple of months ago I was replacing the disc brakes on my son's 2000 Mustang and discovered I needed a screw in disc brake tool to do the rear brakes. Luckily I was able to rent an OEM set at a local Auto parts store to complete the job. I'm not in the habit of renting especially when I can buy an affordable tool set. In comes Amazon. I bought the OEM 27111 Disc Brake Tool Set in June 2011. Well, I replaced the disc brakes on my 2001 Ford Explorer today (July 31, 2011) and I finally had a chance to use this set. I am impressed. After I was done the only thing I could say was I wish I had bought a set like this sooner. The forcing plate is shaped to fit inside the caliper and the round piston plate fit perfectly over the piston making compression a breeze. No more fumbling and trying to find the best place to anchor a C-clamp and a block of wood to compress the piston. I will never use a block of wood and a C-clamp again. This is a must have tool set for anyone who does their own brakes. This is a quality set and reasonably priced. I absolutely love it and wish I had purchased a set like this sooner.

Used this tool on my 2014 Taurus. Had watched a video of someone using a similar tool on YouTube. I opened the box after receiving it the next day after I ordered it and had the first caliper done in three minutes. Great buy.

This is the same kit the auto part store rents for $60 a day. I decided to give it a try because of the price and it worked perfectly!!!

Arrived ahead of scheduled delivery. It works perfect. I used it today on my Fiat 500 and the job went along without a problem. The rear caliper piston is impossible to deal with without the right tool, this is definitely the right tool. This is a quality well made tool.

The paint of the plastic case will dye everything you touch. It's like they missed one component of the finish or used an incompatible product or something. Either way, no complaint about the tool, it works on brakes. Throw away the case and expect to keep the tools in a bag or something.

Had to buy this tool to compress my caliper piston when changing my pads on my golf 2016. Worked perfectly and was easy to use.For the price, the value of this tool is excellent. Strongly built!I'd recommended this as a must for people that do their own brake maintenance.
