Keeps Canadian geese away!
The building I work at is next to a bank with a pond. At the end of February/beginning of March, we are swarmed with Canadian geese. They poop on everything, and they get really aggressive once they nest. I work in a medical building, and it wouldn't be good if sedated patients had to square off against angry, aggressive geese. And the regulation covering these birds is extensive. They are federally protected and getting a nest moved involves a licensed DNR person and a lot of red tape (or a hit man, if you know any). So, I read some things, and these geese really don't like shiny pinwheels. It has something to do with their vision. Canadian geese like wide open spaces full of grass near water. This helps them keep a lookout for predators.I bought three boxes of these pinwheels. I stuck them at roughly 20-foot intervals in all of our mulched beds. I park at the bank with the pond. When I walk over to my building, there is a clear border of clean, unpooped on sidewalk. These things really work, so far. I haven't had to use guns or my car to deal with these monsters. I just put out these pinwheels and we are being left alone by the geese. It gets really gross, because there's a blackberry bush on our property and the poop goes from green to dark purple halfway through the summer. So, so far, so good!

F*n Geese Poop!!!
We live on the lake (I know; quit complaining) but the geese come into the yard a cr*p every where. It gets on the kids shoes when they play in yard, gets in mower tires, gets on sidewalk, sprouts weeds….. if I could shoot them with my pellet gun I would! (Wouldn’t hurt them; just an attention getter)My husband bought these and they do a darn good job of keeping the geese from walking in off the water - I just need to figure out how to keep them from entering in from neighbors yard without putting up a fence.Buying more and will stake on our property line. I’ll just have to pull and reinsert after mowing. It’s worth it if they stay out!! Right now we have a green laser pointer. It works well on cloudy days. Put a laser dot on one goose in the crowd and they all freak out. Great entertainment! I’m sure someone’s going to PETA yell at me for saying that (but seriously; get a laser pointer/hilarious freak out!) and it doesn’t hurt them.

WEAR GLOVES BEFORE HANDLING!
I purchased these items recently and today put the tops of the pinwheels onto the sticks they came with. Simple enough task, right? Except at some point, the back of my finger must have brushed against them and I received an inch worth of tiny, near-invisible splinters (too many to count). I don't know what material these are made from, but seeing as children often play with pinwheels, they should be smooth without tiny bits that can get into your skin. Maybe there should be a warning label to handle these with gloves to avoid skin irritation, splinters, and potential infection. And I have no idea how many splinters are left, but they are NOT coming out easily. Expensive garbage. And per other reviews, they probably don't work that well or hold up very long.

Goodbye yard pests!
Ordered these to deal with birds that had made a nest in a hole in our porch roof, as well as other annoying birds that enjoyed using my property as a restroom. I was surprised that this did the trick. Assembling and placing the pinwheels was easy. I will say it has definitely changed the vibe of my flower bed, the holographics look would not be my first choice, but since it keeps the birds away I'm okay with it. Sidenote: these also deterred the deer that had been eating flowers out of my yard. Love a good multipurpose item!

Works
I felt like an idiot putting pinwheels around my property, but I was desperate to get these !&@& geese to leave. They did.If it was these pinwheels or their normal moving on I’m not sure. They did return several days later but to a portion where the panels had fallen over. I stood them up and they left.I have noticed that all my birds left. All of them.. songbirds…Hawk… every winged creature. I’ll be taking them down soon in hopes that the geese have forgotten the place and all the other birds return, but I’ll keep them in case they come back.Well those that still work. These are well built, but a couple have come apart… the spinner holder came off and the spinner left for distant winds.

Very Sturdy & Effective
Birds like to perch themselves on the top of my mailbox and crap all over the place. I did some research and decided to buy these spinners. I have had this same spinner on since last September, including all through the winter and it keeps on spinning. It's been through some heavy winds - 30-45mph and is still there, undamaged and working. The birds do not like this at all. I usually don't spend the time and write reviews but when I find something that works this great then I owe it to the manufacturers and of course potential buyers to let them know if an item works or not. This one definitely does. I secured this to the back of my mailbox post using one small plastic wire holders you can get at a hardware store - the ones people use to tack a wire in place and a small screw a little bit lower - see photos.

Doesn't work
Did not work with geese. They just laughed and came in my yard anyway.
