Only for the serious DIYer. Measure your lineset length very carefully before ordering
All in all, this is a great buy. That said, there are some negatives. The first is while the line sets are exactly 15’ as advertised and if you plan properly that is fine, but the wire harness is also 15’, so when you install the indoor unit the tubing sticks out of the wall over a foot effectively making the line set 16’, and the wire becomes too short! Since you are not permitted to splice line voltage without a J box that adds a headache, but more importantly you are not permitted (by Daikin) to splice the signal wire between the indoor and the outdoor unit. I suggest the vendor spring for a few cents and include another foot or two of #14/4 wire to ease installation.Second, the Daikin instruction book is terrible. Sometimes the translation is poor, but in fact there are some critical omissions. For example, taking the door off is simple once you figure it out, but figuring it out from the instructions is nearly impossible. More importantly, you have to remove the outer cover to run the wiring and nowhere in the manual does it tell you how. Once again, (it is not intuitive!) once you figure it out (two simple screws and a couple of clips and it pops right off. Also they don’t provide either a template or a scale drawing on where to drill the the wall hole relative to the mounting plate (for various configurations). It takes a some calculations and some guess work AND it has to be right or the unit won’t hang on the wall properly. If you do miss with the hole, it is far easier to move the mounting plate a bit rather than trying to drill a new hole.Third a number of things were missing in my package (they are now shown on the current Amazon listing. The first was the through wall sleeve, the second was the condensate drain tubing and the final was the assembly lube. All but the lube can be had locally for a few dollars, but it would be nice to have them. These are not hard to install, but unless you are a pretty competent DIY guy I don’t suggest you do it. At the very least, you will need a pro to purge the linesets with nitrogen and then evacuate properly, something even very experienced DIY people can’t readily do. These are not “plug and play units”. As note, I am a custom home builder with years of DIY and professional experience with all sorts of stuff (and a pretty handy guy) so...buyer beware. One other thing, make sure you measure you location and determine the line set length properly as you really don’t want to have to shorten them (and you can’t easily lengthen them either). Remember, they stick out of the back of the unit (assuming a right side rear exit) about 1’.I hired a HVAC guy to purge and evac mine for a couple hundred dollars. It seems to work quite well on first tests, and it is amazingly quiet both inside and outside.

Sk
Took about 9 days to deliver the product to California. However, the item arrived well packaged and carefully delivered. So far it works well I'm using the mini split system for a home addition which does not have an attict. During the summer the room gets really hot. Up to 20 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. What's more my central ac system does a poor job at cooling the area. So I closed off the Central ac vent to the room and began using the split ac. So far with room temperatures of around 90 degrees, it has cooled well. Also it has cooled accurately and according to the settings. So if I set the cooling at 78 degrees, it feels like 78 degrees inside the room. Currently I'm happy with the product. However the true test will be this summer when room temperatures get outrageous. I will provide another review when that happens. FYI- this is a way better buy than those pioneer systems being sold at similar prices- Daikin is of better quality.

Fit for Purpose Quiet Unit and Very Cold Air
This is my 2nd Daikin Split System and convinced they are the best vendor for the split system market. When a window unit won't do, a split system is a significant upgrade in performance and price, but worth it. Warranty registration requires the licensed HVAC company responsible for installation. For the DIY'r this is a medium to difficult installation that requires specialty tools with bare essential items; 410A gauges, vacuum pump, low side port adapter; 5/16 SAE Female to 1/4 SAE Male. and metric port valve hex. System comes pre-charged and wont require additional 410A unless pipes are longer than 26'.A traditional ducted system has the expansion valve in the air handler evaporator inside the house , where a split system is different, TSV valve is outside with the condenser. The result is both refrigerant lines are cold, not just one, and both lines need to be fully insulated end to end to avoid sweating. Power and controls to the inside unit is from the outside unit through a 4-conductor stranded wire & jacketed 14 gauge cable. This 9,000 BTU unit came with 2-insulated refrigerant lines; 15' of 1/4" and 3/8" copper with flared ends and about 20' of cable. For my installation that was not long enough, but the seller was out of the 25' kit that is offered by Daikin. I had to extend the copper pipe & insulation using equivalent 1/4" and 3/8" HVAC copper tubing and couplings, a brazing kit to join pipe, spliced in with 2-couplings to preserve the factory flared ends. The instructions say not to splice the 4-14 gauge cable, so this was replaced in-kind with a longer cable. For 240 VAC supply, instructions say to use a 2-15A GFCI breaker, a specialty item that had to be ordered. For simplicity, the disconnect for the outdoor unit was combined with120 VAC GFI outlet in same box.Installing the condensate line correctly is not an after-thought, but carefully planned to gravity drain about a quart of water per hour 24/7 without problems. This evaporator was mounted on an inside wall shared with a bathroom. The condensate line drains vertically down inside the wall and comes out under the bathroom sink and was connected to a new 1-1/2-in tailpiece with a 5/8-in OD outlet often used for dishwashers and made tight with Teflon tape and pipe clamp. I needed a fat slip joint washer at the top of the tailpiece to convert from 1-14" to 1-1/2" drain pipe. A wall mount kit was included for the condensing unit, but not used since I poured a concrete pad and lifted with pavers to avoid potential flooding in heavy rain. Shipping took about a week using carrier for curbside drop off.The unit is very quiet, inside and out, almost silent. Indoor air is discharged at 48 F when outdoor temperature was 90 F. The fan is variable, and ranges from low to extreme high, your preference. Louvers are adjustable with remote control.Update: the 15A double GFCI breaker did not work out, tripping the breaker regularly. The AC supply requires three wire 240 VAC supply, red, black, green, and has no neutral. The GFCI breaker has a white pigtail to the neutral bar, but without a neutral line to the AC unit the GF reference volage is enough to trip the breaker on startup. A regular 15A double breaker works perfect with no trips.
