New to Anker, gave this a shot and didn't disappoint
So I wrote a different review about a power strip I bought. I bought this AFTER I bought the power strip because I was very impressed with the tech, clean layout, and it seems very stable.I had a malfunctioned Samsung microSD card that nearly started a fire and/or burned my laptop motherboard (no joke, literally burned me trying to get it out) so I went with a SanDisk microSD card and needed a reader so that I don't risk that ever happening again. Since the Anker platform strip that I bought was really good, I stumbled across an Anker brand reader and decided to get it.It was really easy, just plugged it in and immediately recognized the SD card. I've used it a few times now and no issues. It's USB3 and I was able to pop over a few gigs of music quickly - the reader seems to process data fast.Since I'm new to microSD card readers I don't really have anything else to say. If it's anything like normal data transmitting with USB sticks then I would say it blazingly fast. I will contest that if anyone IS having issues with copying over files quickly, it would be the motherboard (and that just comes from knowledge of computer building over the years). As an example, I plugged this into my laptop and it dipped a couple of times - meaning it will stay consistent rate of MB/S and then all the sudden drop for no reason. Nothing major, but I have been struggling with processor and heat problems on this laptop. On another computer it doesn't do that. Mild dips at times, but that's it.Overall I'm just putting a tech-wise disclaimer in defense of the product that if you have a slower bus speed on your motherboard or a laptop that's under 1,000$ more than likely it's just a normal power problem with dips. This is also not even a real issue anyways considering it doesn't effect much of the speed process. I think I transferred 12 gigs in a couple minutes - I don't fully recall but it wasn't like 10 minutes or something - I just let it do it's thing and it was done.So it's very good quality. I think I will be continuing purchasing things from Anker. Like I said in my other product review I'm new to Anker so I didn't know what to expect. So far so good. Speaker might be next on the list <3

GREAT Card Reader - Solid construction, Good USB 3 speeds for faster imports, Backwards compatible, Plug fits even awkward ports
This is a great product. It is well-made, affordable, and very fast. If your computer has the ability to use USB 3, this is a great pick. Even if you currently still have a lot of USB 2 devices, this card reader is backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2, so you can use it on those machines while still having a card reader capable of utilizing USB 3 Super Speed if/when you need it.This Anker has three major things going for it: it works with a wide range of SD cards, uses USB 3 Super Speed*, and has the ability to utilize higher speed SD cards for high-speed transfers. As a USB 3 device, it is MUCH faster than USB 2, and given we tend to put large files (pictures, movies, music, etc.) on SD cards, the higher read/write speeds of USB 3 can save significant time. With the ability to work with, "SD-XC, SD, MMC, RS-MMC, SD-HC, Micro SD, Mini SD", this Anker SD card reader can handle virtually any SD card you may ever have. This includes the high-speed SD-XC cards, and with USB 3 you can now make use of the high transfer speeds these cards can support. (*NOTE that in order to use this for USB 3, your computer must have USB 3 which has only been common since around 2011-2012. If the computer only has USB 2 (or USB 1.1), this card reader will still work reliability, but will only run at the maximum speed USB 2 (or USB 1.1) allows, which is significantly slower than USB 3.)Like most USB 3 devices, it is advertised as being "up to 5.0 Gbps" but in reality that speed is much slower (the 5.0 Gbps is a theoretical maximum...virtually no devices currently run anywhere near that speed.) Still, it's considerably faster than USB 2. If I had to guess, I would say that this cuts my import time at least in half compared to my old USB 2 card reader. So if you take a lot of pictures or video, that's a heck of a lot of time saved for only ten bucks.Like other Anker products I own, the construction itself is durable, the USB plug is designed to fit well even in laptops with angled ports, and the addition of the LED light is a nice add-on to know when it is or is not running. These fit well in the Apple MacBook Air USB ports, which as notorious for not working well with many other card readers. At this price, you really can't go wrong here. If you are still using a USB 2 card reader, I think you will be very happy with how much faster the Anker USB 3 card reader works.
