A couple of pleasant surprises
I installed this strictly for the backup camera so my teenager can learn to drive manual and have the safety of the backup camera. I installed this in a 2004 BMW 330Ci Convertible with a "Business" Harman-Kardon CD and it was Plug and Play. By that I mean that the steering wheels buttons work, the illumination works and the backup camera doesn't need the analog signal wire. While this is not clear at all in the manual, these features are enabled by the CAN bus decoder. I used harness B which has three plugs. One goes to the car harness, one to the head unit and one to the CAN bus decoder. If I followed the wires correctly, the CAN bus connector has the following wires:Black - groundYellow - constant powerRed - ACCWhite - CAN INPink - hand brake signal OUTBrown - reverse signal OUTOrange - illuminationPurple - CAN OUTSo, if for some reason you cannot or don't want to use the CAN bus decoder, but you do want to use the rear view camera, you need to disconnect the brown wire from the white connector and connect the brown wire to the red/pigtail wire that typically brings the reverse indicator from the rear camera.A few other thoughts: I found the Fuse/Filter box to be a bit too close to the main connector, so I extended the wires going to it in order to create more space around the head unit. You need to find every empty space on top, bottom, left and right of the unit to shove the wires and extra output connectors. Other than that, so far so good. CarPlay works fine, wired and wireless. The sound is good (maybe better than the original). Even the preset orange for the buttons illumination matches the rest of the car.

Excellent upgrade.
I replaced original sat nav radio with HK amp and also added a backup camera. I had to use the extension wire harness to the trunk. Hence the installation was more involved and took several hours. But it was worth every minute.Wireless CarPlay works like a charm, connects to original HK amp and the radio antenna. Everything sounds great.Thank you for such a thoughtful OEM like design.

Unit did not fit.
Head unit did not fit my 2002 e46 330ci convertible. The unit is too long in the back.

Good value overall, useless documentation
Overall a good unit, works without any problems and is certainly an upgrade over the old Android units. Fairly responsive UI but don't expect it to be super smooth like you would get in $100k vehicle. Sound quality is good, it has a software DSP preloaded. Wiring harness is a bit bulky but no issues with fitment. With that said, however, I was disappointed with documentation. The wiring diagram included is wrong, reference the diagram on top of the unit - that's the correct one. No mention of passcode to remove obnoxious boot logo and their website documentation references a wrong code. The correct backend menu code is 0000. Lastly, the documentation was likely translated with Google, not great.

Decent price, great way to modernize my ‘04 330xi
I had to order this twice, the first one that arrived looked like it had been previously installed and returned, there were parts missing and nothing was packaged in the box. Customer service was very helpful and promptly arranged a return so I could order another unit. The second unit was brand new and nicely packaged. Installation was plug and play using “harness B” and took about an hour, with most of that time spent relocating the climate controls since my previous unit was single-DIN. The unit came with wifi and GPS antennas and a microphone, which I’ll install due at a later date since they must be run up the a-pillar. It also supports backup camera which I’ll install at a later date as well. The unit itself exceeds my expectations for the price. Sound quality is very good, it boots quickly and wireless Apple Car Play is amazing. The unit comes with a paper manual which has a captcha that can be scanned or additional/more in-depth user directions (where I found how to change the head unit boot-up background to pre-loaded vehicle brand logos). I’m very pleased with this purchase so-far, it really modernized my 19 year old car!

Wished I bought a better product
Straight to the point. Bought this and the Tanaki backup cam. Car: 2003 330iInstallation: had to buy an antenae since the unit couldn't pick up radio signal. Harness was bulky so the unit didn't install really flush. Old unit has 4 install screws (2 top 2 bottom). This unit has only 2 top screws. If adding backup cam, recommend buying trim inserts.Usage: user manual useless. tech support doesn't write English. no configuration guide. Steering wheel buttons don't work anymore. Clock keeps resetting. backup line guide doesn't turn with wheels. Biggest gripe: glare from back window big time! Does this thing have a CD or DVD player?Overall, not a perfect unit. Usable but could be better. Oh well, at least backup cam work and the radio.

Easier to install than I expected
It does not seem to be essential to run WI-FI and GPS and microphone up the pillar or along the headliner. The unit's built in mike works fine for phone calls in my 2001 330Ci, no need for the wired mike supplied. I put the wi-fi and GPS antennas behind the glove box, and they work fine. The glove box is very easy to remove and replace and there is lots of space behind it (perhaps I'm missing an option that can be fitted there) - and no messing with pillar trim or headliner. The Wi Fi connects to my home network when I drive into my garage, and to my phone (in hot spot mode). GPS works same as it does on my phone. I expected the car body work around the antennas in this location to be an issue, but I haven't encountered one yet. Try these suggestions in your car before you start pulling off pillar trim and headliner, which can be very difficult to get back in place. Running the reversing camera video wire was my biggest installation hassle., though removing rear seat and door sill trim (to get wire under the carpet) aren't really that difficult either, but they are still the biggest time sink of the complete installation. Head unit itself is very easy to install in the dash.
