Duncan Hines Mug Cakes, Confetti Cake and Frosting

Definitely worth the $2 and change I spent on this. First time trying boxed mug cake mix but really couldn’t beat the price at around 50 cents a serving. I was a bit worried reading the reviews first but went ahead anyway. So,it came with four packages of mix and four frostings, perfect. I DID use a 7oz ramekin because I saw some people say it was barely filling their mugs.. idk what size mugs people were using but this filled my ramekin perfectly and was the perfect amount for one person, in my opinion. Great little dessert to finish off dinner and no mess. Took me about 3 mins from start to finish to make and I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. It was very lemony with a great tang and the vanilla icing wasn’t too sweet for me at all and really complimented it. I’m very glad I tried them and plan to try all the flavors if priced right. Yummy.Update… also tried the strawberry shortcake and it was horrible! I rarely throw things away but this I could not eat.. it was so sweet, so so sweet and to me gross, that I couldn’t eat it. The lemon was really good but the strawberry was bad.

Duncan hines cake in a cup - delicious! 3 tablespoons of water or milk, stir, micro about 1 min. Easy. Healthy? Not so much - but if you're dying a taste of cake - works. Comes with frosting too - separate package - you can control the amount of frosting you drop on. Has been a blast for grandsons.

Easy to make for when you want something baked without going through 20 steps of baking. The flavor isn’t overwhelmingly amazing but it is definitely a cake and definitely easy to make. Frosting is a great addition, and overall product is great for its price. Came with no defects or damage!

I made it once, but next time I make it, I will definitely have to balance the very sweet sugary cake mix by making 1/4th of the mix with 3/4 of the mix substituted with un-bleached and unsweetened cake flour. Plus, I would used evaporated milk as my liquid to enhance the shortcake taste. Unfortunately, it’s way too sweet for me just as it is. Adding the sweet topping should make it absolutely perfect for me. Adding bits of dehydrated real strawberries will enhance the taste of actual strawberry with actual strawberries. Maybe my palate isn’t refined enough to tell that it’s strawberry shortcake just from the taste alone and not from what I read on the box. I really wouldn’t know that it’s strawberry shortcake just by taste alone. That’s my truth.

I got this for my child as a special treat to make from time to time. It's super easy to make in the microwave and it's fast too. But honestly, the icing is just way too sweet. As for the cake, the taste is okay, just like any regular cake you might buy from the supermarket, but a bit drier.

I am a devoted chocoholic and after trying a few of these mug cakes flavors, I can honestly say the lemon flavor is the best! Each box contains four single serving packets. These are quick and easy to prepare - add mix to 3 tablespoons of water then microwave for one minute and 10 seconds. There is a single packet of vanilla icing to be used with the four single servings. It would be easier for consumers if the icing were in single packets but that does not deter from the quality and flavor of the product - it just means I have to ration the icing. And truth be told the icing isn't even necessary - the mug cakes tastes great all by itself.I have really surprised myself by preferring this lemon flavor to the chocolate varieties, which to me are just ok.These mug cakes are great for a quick and satisfying snack and I highly recommend the lemon flavor.

Great item for last minutes guests. They will also love the flavor. If one is feeling below the weather yet want something delicious to eat these are so easy to make in just a few minutes.

This was quick and easy for something sugary but it's hard to say what it tasted like.... Neither strawberry-ish nor shortcake...it was mainly the cream cheese frosting that had flavor to it....
