Wow, this did not disappoint. In choosing this one, I ended up spending more money on a bench knife than I'd planned, for a combination of reasons. 1) the measurements not only across bottom, but up the side (and etched in), extremely helpful, 2) the larger bevel on the bottom than others, and 3) the reviews. What a pleasure to work with. Nice weight to it (btw it is heavier than others I've known, but this is a plus for me, maybe not for you). It's clearly not a piece of junk and actually feels special to hold. Love the box it comes in too, with magnetic closure. I really appreciate quality tools in anything I do, but our budget keeps me from everything I want. ;) Glad I splurged on this. I expect to have it for many years to come.

This bench scraper has a really nice feel to it. It's heavy in your hand while being easy to use. It doesn't bend or split like some scrapers that are less expensive. I think this bench scraper will the last one I have to ever buy.

After opening the shipping box my first impression was "wow, what a nice product"! The packaging is sturdy, easy to read and attractive; makes for a great gift giving item. The magnetic box closure is fantastic for easy opening/closing for safe storage of the knife. The bench knife itself is durable and comfortable to use. I have been using the knife mostly for peeling & chopping of vegetables & nuts; cuts through like butter. I think that this knife would also work great for shearing-off corn on a cob...that will be the next venture.

After taking a sausage making class where the instructor waxed on about his bench knife being the most versatile instrument he had and he just loved it SO MUCH, I wanted one, too. I don't even really cook often (yet), but I do like owning things. I grabbed this scraper because the measurements ran vertically, as well, rather than just across the bottom, and the reviews sounded promising.It arrived in a sturdy box nestled in a velveteen inlay looking rather elegant, so much that I momentarily debated keeping the packaging as its continued home when not in use. The measurements are accurate and it works well for both cutting and scraping with a handle that is comfortable to hold. So far with a month of use, it has been a fabulous purchase. The company also seems way up on their customer service, contacting me before it had even arrived to inquire why I'd selected their product and to assure me that if anything about the transaction wasn't worthy of five stars to contact them and they'd do their best. I didn't respond, but I am leaving a loving review -- this scraper and the experience as a whole definitely warranted it!

After I saw all the reviews I decided to try out a new kitchen tool for myself and I was not disappointed. I love getting new gadgets and this Cestari bench knife did not disappoint. I found it to be an ideal kitchen tool for slicing that gets the job done easily and efficiently. The measurements are etched into the blade so you can measure both length and thickness of dough and pastry. On the top is a large, ergonomic style handle that makes it easy to hold. The blade is concise and sharp for chopping anything from veggies to dough. The large flat surface makes it easy to scoop up chopped items. I found it very easy to clean and the packaging was very nice. So nice that I will be giving these as Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers to all my amateur chef friends. Prompt packing and delivery. Very high quality product. Packaging elegant as well. I used it for the first time today, to cut dough. I chose this particular one after days of research, and I was still pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped the packaging! Having engraved measures was very important. Very sharp. I does exactly what I wanted and it does it well. The cardboard packaging also has a magnetic closure and foam bedding for the knife. I will keep this bench knife in its case and give it a position of honor in my kitchen! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
