The Lion King ReadAlong Storybook and CD Paperback – Picture Book, June 4, 2019

This is the first review I have written on Amazon after countless purchases but because I am so wowed by this book and the reaction my three year old son has had to it, I felt compelled to share our experience. We watched the Lion King for the first time recently and he loved it so I thought that it would be fun for him to have a book and a companion CD that he could engage with in a different way. The publisher does a great job condensing the main parts of the book and interweaving character voices from the movie along with sound effects. Even though he is just three years old and a few months, he now understands what the chime is for. I kid you not when I say he has listened to it 8 times in a row and cries when we try to get him to move on. He feels proud of himself that he is learning to work the CD player and can follow along in the book. We will definitely be getting more and soon, before CDs stop getting made all together.

We bought this as a gift for my nephew who doesn't read quite yet. This is a great way to encourage children with the love of reading. Whether they can read or not, books on CD are awesome. The person can hear music, backgound sounds, and different people reading the story to them - often in the actual actor's voice from the movie. We have over 15 of these style books at our house and the adults and kids have loved them for years! A great gift for anyone to experience the love of reading in a different way!

I love this! It takes me back to when I had the book and cassette as a child. Great memories and making many more with this. Thank you Disney and Amazon!

Great price for what you get! CD sounds very good easy to use and storybook pictures are entertaining!

I liked this one the best. I think this is an amazing way for young children to learn to love books. But I do think this is too complicated for children under 4 years old. My 4-year-old granddaughter struggled to understand the connection between the CD and the page turning. However my 5-year-old granddaughter caught on right away. I do think the 4-7 age group will enjoy these books the most.

I absolutely love the story of The Lion King, and my child loves to listen to it with the audio book on CD! However, the narrator is a struggle to listen to with this story. There are different narrators with the different Disney Read-Along Storybooks and CD's. This is the first one were I haven't loved the narrator. Still a great story, but more of a struggle to listen to on repeat, which is what happens in my house. Still a great purchase though.

We keep adding to our collection of Read-Along storybooks; my daughter (3 years old) loves them! When we are at home, we use a boombox to listen to the CD, but I also like taking these in the car. My daughter can turn the pages of the book on her own when she hears the chime and loves following along with the story. She really enjoys hearing the voices and dialogue from the movies she knows so well.Note: The Disney storybooks vary in length; this one is 11:35 in length.

My grandchildren love listening to this story on long road trips.
