Two units, No issues after 4 months
Others have reported longevity issues and I will certainly update if I encounter any issues. For now, both units are doing their job. Unit 1 is powering a 24 port POE switch for 2 APs, 3 cameras, and some non-POE connectivity. Unit 2 is powering a blu-ray player, and two came consoles (used 1 at a time). These use cases are pretty low wattage so I doubt I'll outrun the power output of the UPSs.Comes with all parts needed for both desktop and rack mount installation. The cage nuts are awful, so bring your own if your planning on racking this. At this price point, Lithium batteries or not, I'd like to see an on device screen and controls. Instead, configuration has to be done through the free power cute software available from APCs website. It does work on Windows 11 for those who are curious. Config really isn't necessary as the out of the box defaults are usable. The only changes I made were to set a slightly wider (higher) switch over voltage and to silence the alarms. At the time of writing the web based monitoring is still included free. This does require a hard wire ethernet connection. This is nice as you receive email notifications for any issues (system events, battery status changes, network communication failures). You can also log in any time to check real-time status and run manual self-tests. This does not enable network management of connected devices (graceful shutdown) but the USB port does allow for a single device to receive a shutdown command as you would expect.Overall I'm happy with these and would purchase more depending on long term reliability. As long as your use case is within the VA rating with some safety margin, I would recommend for you as well.

I had hoped these would be great. They are not.
I've purchased 8 of the units starting in 2020, up until early this year. 5 of them have now died in less than 3 years. I had high hopes being lithium batteries that I could put them in client locations and not have to worry about battery changes every 3 years like the larger, heaver traditional lead acid battery units. These units simply are not reliable at all. The failure rate is unbelievable, 5 out of 8 dead is astonishingly bad, and I'm now pulling even the working units out of service, as I know they will fail at some point soon as well.I've used APC for years, they used to make reliable UPS's, I have some of their old rackmount smart-ups 1500 models still in use that are almost 20 years old (obviously multiple battery swaps have occurred in that time). These however are garbage.Edit Jan 2024: Another unit has died. All in the same fashion, no lights, no sounds, no power, just completely unresponsive to anything. These things are absolute garbage.

Great Smart Lithium-ion UPS
Pretty much a UPS with Lithium-ion battery and online connectivity. Battery lifespan is supposed to be longer but only time will tell in years to come. The Smart aspect is being able to connect to your online APC account which registers any events that may occur and notifies you via email. You can also login to the portal for more information. If power goes you still get notification as the APC server pulse checks with the device. It has a USB data port for use with PowerChute or connecting to a device like a NAS. I have it connected to my NAS so that when power goes, the NAS will shutdown at certain %.It's lighter than the normal chemical based UPS and the battery is pretty small. As it's rack mountable 1u, I have it in my home rack. It comes with the ears as depicted in the picture. As the power is only 400W, I have this dedicated to my NAS. It would be nice if they would include a larger capacity battery on this model. Hopefully, they might release a larger capacity batter for it. The higher models have larger capacities but they are 2U and significantly heavier. This model does sine wave whereas the higher models do pure sine wave. All in all great UPS, good price point. Hopefully they make it greater with more capacity at the same price point.I am buying another one for another device. I would like to get a 3rd unit for a PoE switch but the 400W runtime is too short for what I require.

Died after about 6 months, just dropped load
What good is a UPS that dies, dropping the load. This unit failed after only 6 months, dropping power to all my network equipment. Reliability is the only parameter that really matters in a UPS, and I was disappointed that this unit failed in the worst possible way.ALso, the "Smart" feature is very dumb. I suppose some people might want to manage their network UPS exclusively through a cloud service, and this is a nice option to have, but it's VERY disappointing that this is the only option for network control and monitoring. There's a perfectly good ethernet port on the UPS, but for me it's a white elephant as it cannot be used for local control/monitoring. The only way to use it is to allow APC/Schnider to spy on your network. Every other device on my network has full local control capability (SNMP, Web, etcc...) through it's network port, but not this UPS. If you want local control you need to install a SECOND ethernet port on the device for extra $$$. Sheesh! Otherwise it's a decent unit. The lithium batteries make it very light.

Worked great for 2 years, then failed completely.
Nice unit, good fit and finish, but unfortunately it is totally non responsive after 24 months. Fortunately it is under warranty but the manufacturer service is terrible. Emails are not answered (even though I was told to email by the chat support). I stayed on 6 hours on chat support waiting to get to the front of the line and never made it. I finally gave up and called and after a 34-minute hold time, they're supposedly going to send a replacement.
