I'm a history buff! Love my books,yes even in this age of DOWN LOADS and PAPERLESS BILLING!! My collection of history books had a missing slot: THE MIDDLE AGES. "The Story of the Middle Ages"box set from Folio provided both the right books for that "slot" and the beautiful quality that Folio is renowned for. I'm overjoyed with this purchase and would recommend anyone to check out Amazon.com's BOOK DEPT:rare books out of print books as well as the latest books on the market!!

All but the first volume was “like new”.Quite a bit of writing of notes in the first one.Other than that, they were good.

Just a great set of books if antone is interested in the subject. In five volumes the set covers everything from the beginning f the middle ages to the high middle ages. Published by the Folio Society it is just about as all inclusive as you could wish for.

I would’ve rated the set perfect! BUT unfortunately, durning shipping and handling the slipcover was damaged… BUT… it showed how important having a slipcase for high quality books is needed. Without the slipcase the books themselves would have been damaged. Luckily, the damage is on the back and not noticeable from the front. STILL, i should have received a damaged free item…. So, 4/5 starts
