One of the best keyboards I have used
This keyboard is so comfortable that I wish my other keyboards and my laptop were shaped like this one. Very easy to use and fully featured with a number of alternative keys. The mouse is ergonomic and very responsive, but I don't use the thumb swipe button on the side. I would recommend it highly.

Better than the 5000 combo for me
I have worn letters off many keyboards and find this one comfortable enough but nothing special. It took some getting used to and I don't find the split space/back bar all that necessary, but it is a little better than the 5000 combo it is replacing. The mouse has a power switch (unnecessary for the keyboard) and is a little smaller.I programmed the windows button for copy and paste but either it's unreliable or I don't have the nack for it yet. You "swipe" it with your thumb so this would be intuitive but it only works 20% of the time... still practicing though. The key placement seems good to excellent but of course if you type a lot you're going to see a little adjustment period where you might hit two keys occasionally. After a few days I found it comfortable and well-designed for a heavy Word and Excel user.

One of the better keyboards I have had.
This keyboard has a very nice look and feel. It is comfortable in long periods of typing with its ergonomic curved shape and its medium travel push keys. The mouse also has a nice weight and feel about it. the sides have a rubber texture for an easy grip and is pretty comfortable. It is responsive, sensitive, and accurate.Software and drivers seem to download and start to install automatically when first plugging in the small USB receiver. The software allows for customization of several keyboard and mouse functions as well as creating and executing custom macros. The thumb button on the mouse is also “swipe” sensitive. By default, swiping up and down the button’s surface flips forward and backwards between web pages, but this is also customizable.Though the packaging and descriptions imply that it is designed for Windows 8, all features work just fine with Windows 7.The price for the keyboard /mouse combo was very fair. While I really do like using this wireless desktop, there are a number of things that I am not pleased with. These are just my opinion, but you may prefer these. The space bar is split to allow the left side to be the Backspace key. I guess this is to support the “Ergo” design, but I think it is unnecessary. Hitting where the spacebar splits is very distracting while typing. The special functions of the function keys are enabled via a mode switch that stays in its selected setting. I think this should have been a “per use” button with a function mode lock option. There is a mini vibrator in the mouse that is briefly activated when using the thumb swipe. While I’m sure it has some purpose, I find it more distracting then useful and I wonder how it affects battery life. I don’t see a way of disabling it.The top of the mouse has a shiny black finish. While the mouse looks nice, it quickly shows fingerprints and is slippery when pressing the mouse buttons. I actually took the mouse top (removable for battery access) and sanded it with a fine sandpaper to give it a little texture. I don’t recommend doing this though. My mouse went from “pretty” to “pretty ugly”.No Pause / Break key. While not commonly used these days, I discovered it was not there while needing it to do some command line scripting. One last note. Using this keyboard causes the installation of Windows 7 to fail on my HP desktop. This does not mean this would happen on all computers and operating systems, but something worth remembering should you also have to rebuild your system with this keyboard.Despite my issues with it, overall this is one of the better keyboards I have had.

Nice wireless keyboard and mouse set
I have no use for any of the Windows 8 stuff! That aside, this is a nice set. There are a bunch of Win 8 function keys on the F keys. There is a switch to turn them off and just make them F keys. Great! The installation is basically automatic. Just install the INCLUDED batteries for the mouse, pull the blue tab to make the batteries in the keyboard work, make sure the mouse is turned on (there is a switch on the bottom), and plug in the USB transmitter. The is a configuration screen that comes up. You can make changes to the buttons and so on.The mouse worked on all surfaces I tried. My old mouse would not work on my desktop but this one does. The palm rest comes off and makes a lot smaller footprint. I will leave it on in my application. I did not try a range test but so far it is fine. I would like a little more key travel but I think this is a nice replacement for my old wireless desk set.
