Looks great, gesture works perfectly after updated controller
Love it. My brother and I installed in one afternoon, I did have cabinet jacks that made it much easier. Our existing vent aligned with well with the hood. We really like the rounded corners and the size. We had ordered a different well regarded hood but it was just too large for our space especially with the sharp corners. The iKTCH is 20" deep instead of 22" and also one inch thinner, that made a big difference for us.The gesture control though was not responsive. Worked maybe one out of 10 attempts. I contacted their customer service since the description for the same hood at a big box store stated it had a 'new and improved controller', and asked if our hood did. Emma in CS helped me confirm ours was manufactured prior to the update in July 31 2024. She promptly sent a new controller. I installed it and now it works perfectly.Ventilation seems good, we find level 1 or 2 is sufficient for most of what we do. All in all very happy with this hood.

Sleek and modern looking with convenience
Have been using this since Oct 2023, it has turned out to be so convenient to use, provides good amount of light and control when you cook without touching anywhere. I renovated my kitchen and changed everything except as it was running so well and it looks as new as I just bought it. Complements any kitchen and highly recommended.

good unit
suction is strong and it looks nice. installation was easy; mine required rear venting so i had to simply move the coverplate from rear to top and the connector/baffle from top to rear. my setup also needed to be hard wired, so i cut the cord and used the cord protector it had for protecting the romex where it came through the sheet metal. fan controls are good and the wave feature is nice. the light switch instructions were vague on how to use the dimmer function (turns out you go to turn it off and hold til light reaches desired level and then let go) and as far as i can tell the dimmer does not work with the remote. speaking of the remote; very flakey function until i opened it up and tensioned the springs that push against the battery. also about the light; i saw in the question section that one person asked about the harshness of the light...she was answered with "just dim the lights". it turns out the manufacturer claims the led bulbs to be 4000k. to my eye i would have said 5000k. they also informed me that these are a custom design so you can not find any standard replacement. i would dearly love to get bulbs with a warm or soft light (around 2500-3000k) but until the manufacturer offers that we are out of luck. now onto the noise level. i realize that everyone has different expectations but... this thing is LOUD! one of the reasons i bought it was the listed decibels and the reviews that claimed it was quiet... bs people! let's be honest with our audience and not mislead buyers looking for real info in the reviews.overall i like this unit as it does move a lot of air and looks nice hence my 4 star rating.

Great vent hood and fantastic after sale service.
This vent hood arrived quickly. It took a couple days for me to get around to installing it, but it eventually did get installed. I ended up using a small step stool, a hydraulic jack, and a 3' wide board to hold it up while I anchored it in place. That was easier than trying to find someone to assist with holding it up. This is much heavier than the one it replaced, but then again it has two fans in it, so that's pretty much to be expected. Upon testing it out after, I discovered that the gesture operation was spotty at best, so I sent a message to IKITCH regarding the issue. They informed me that I wasn't moving my hand past the sensors quickly enough (you must wave you hand past both sensors) , so I gave that a try. Well, I ultimately had to move my hand past them at such a speed as for it to be completely impractical. I then contacted IKITCH again and informed them of this, and was told they would send a replacement control as the one that was in this hood was one that their supplier had adjusted the control on to alleviate the issue that some people are/were having with the fan turning on while they simply walked past it. They obviously got a bit carried away with their adjustment to the control. The new control panel arrived today, and I almost immediately went to work installing it. Now the gesture control works exactly as I would expect it to, with me being able to turn the fan on, adjust it up or down, and turn it off, and I don't have to wave my hand past it so quickly that I look as if I'm practicing karate chops any longer. One thing to note. If you use gesture control to turn the unit on, the lights and fan turn on, but if you then try to turn it off with gesture, only the fan turns off. You must use the touch control for the light to turn it off. And a note for the person who stated that you couldn't turn the gesture control completely off. Yes, you can. You simply have to turn the vent hood completely off so that the power button is not lit, then touch and hold the time control button until the word "OFF" appears on the display. You do the same thing again when you wish to turn it on until it displays "ON". So, in conclusion, if you are having issues with the gesture control (or anything else) do not hesitate to contact IKITCH through Amazon. Their customer service is quick to respond and send any replacement part(s) you may need.
