Works great, installation is straightforward but could require removing mounting bracket
The lighting control module was a perfect fit for my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis LSE, and now I don't have to drive in involuntary stealth mode, i.e., the headlights work again. The LCM on the 2003-05 Grand Marquis and Ford Crown Victoria is the subject of a Ford safety recall. The dealership couldn't even schedule me for two weeks out but I needed my headlights to work sooner. The job took about an hour. You need to remove two gold colored 7 mm screws that affix the LCM to the base of the mounting bracket, along with two screws that hold the OBD II connector to the bracket. I ended up removing the entire mounting bracket because it was just too challenging to try to remove and attach the electrical connectors at the rear of the LCM.There are some videos online that show an installer pulling the wire harnesses from the back of the LCM without removing the bracket. I have arthritis so I needed the extra clearance provided by removing the entire bracket. Even with healthy hands, I doubt I could have just pulled the wire harnesses without risking damage.I'm still trying to figure out how to get the core refund. Amazon doesn't seem to have a link, and Cardone's Web site didn't help either. So my next step is to call Cardone customer service.

Serious Safety issue if not taken care of!
So far so good. I installed this in September 2017 and it is Dec 2017. At least the low beams don't fail anymore while driving in the dark. One quirkis that the headlights do not always turn off after the switch light switch is turned off. I don't think that is the fault of the LCM module. There are other sensors in the system that can cause weird symptoms. The module itself is rather a nightmare to R & R but such is the life of us DIY-ers.This matched for my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. Even though this was a dealer safety recall they wanted to charge their exorbitant diagnostic fee to verify the problem and they were out of stock for months on end. Just unbelievable! I think I will send them the invoice and see if they will stepup and do what's right.

It works
This under-dash black box was installed with a minimum of difficulty and it works. Problem solved. I would order another one if it was needed.
