Of course these aren't 'spectacular' dishes but they are perfect for several reasons. Easy to clean. Chipping doesn't happen. They don't break if dropped accidentally. They are large enough for a full dinner, lightweight enough to carry around. They are excellent for klutzes like me, and since I'm the one who washes dishes, it's a plus that they don't chip or break. A plus for arthritic hands. Great extra plates. I like they are biodegradable and BPA free.*** Okay so after several meals the plates hold up great. However. Despite washing the dishes immediately after dinner, red sauce permanently stains the dish. They scratch easily. Expect these plates are temps and appreciate the fact they can be safely tossed when needed.

This set of 6 Wheat Straw Plants is so beyond the beyond they really are perfect!Spectacular colors, some bright, some subtle, shape of plate is divine and makesanything on it look inviting, the lightweight, environmentally kind, splurge andget 2 sets so you have 2 of each color is my recommendation. I will hand wash asthey are so beautiful and lightweight they don't need the dishwasher abuse IMO.Somebody somewhere designed these gems and I salute the talent. Get them whileyou can would be my advice. They are really THAT great. ENJOY!

Like these for cooking out and when we have little ones around. Microwaveable. Easy to clean. Does scratch with use of knife but fork and spoon does not appear to scratch. Good value for money. Good size for meal. Sturdy. Will order again.

Got them since I will always microwave the wrong dishes that weren't made for it. These stand out, so very easy to find them and safe for the microwave to use plus their price is very cheap.

Lightweight and easy to clean.

This is a time that having these dishes in your hot, sweaty palms will sell you many times over. To begin, the colors, all of them, are dead-sharp! The wheat that is part of the mix of goo that is what makes the colors come out so creamy. They are finished with a satin that subtly makes this both tactically interesting and welcomed and adds to the depth of color, I think.Depth figured into the reason why I selected this design, too. It is not as deep as a bowl, yet had enough depth, as well as a lip to hold foods and yet hold onto the plate easily.One of the tribe here ate a particularly oily marinara sauce and left the (mostly) finished meal on the plate, for hours before I came home to find it. I had no delusions that I was going to have to be delicate with this stuff. All of the old melamine I ever used carried the shadow, if you know what I mean, of dinners eaten over the years. They were nasty looking and that was what I expected here. Nope. Nada. Came off like it was china. Likewise, the dishes and the dishwasher play together nicely. Even on the sanitize cycle! I'm sold right there!What I thought was going to be a negative about these plates was their weight. Ish, it's melamine, and it will always feel like melamine. There is little weight. That has turned all in our favor as we used them. Most of the people in our house can't eat if the TV isn't on.If you haven't priced a good set of TV trays, you will suck in your face. Near as I can tell, TV trays have turned into investment furniture.These plates make eating at the TV something that can be maneuvered and used with pleasure, which was all I hoped for.I've nosed around this manufacturer page here on the Mighty AMZ and they have all sorts of dishes and even flatware made in these colors. Everything can be happily mixed as people cart off their meal.This would make for the perfect thing for the summer. Ecologically, this is a very good choice as all of this is made from recycled plastics and vegetation. I think buying items such as this shows the recycling industry and us as consumers that recycling is not painful and no one has ever died from recycling their old Pepsi bottles."Paper" plates are anything but. Can they be recycled? Sometimes. But if you are going to be all green about it, you are going to have to rinse them well. If these plates of "paper" have grease stains, they can't be recycled into anything at all. Up for that sort of recycling? Not me. I prefer my recycling as easy as possible.The coolest things about this is, while it could be recycled, why would you want to?

They are lightweight and look nice - like a stoneware affect. They're also microwave safe and that's been great. But at the end of the day they're plastic and knife marks appear on them quite quickly. I advise not using metal silverware on them b/c metal vs plastic is a sure way to scratch the plastic. The reason I took off the 2 stars was partially b/c of the above but mostly since these are actually hard to wash - oily things take a decent amount of effort to clean off, probably b/c of the dull finish. And they stain from deeply colored foods / spices. At the end of the day I can't complain too much since they are solid and don't break, they're light and look nice but they clearly won't last too long b/c of the above.

Bought this for my grandmother because ceramic is too heavy and plastic was very picky with the microwave and dishwasher. These are perfect and I plan to buy for myself in the future. Everyone is the house loves them and the colors.I was worried about the price at first but they're honestly worth it in my opinion.
