Absolutely amazing natural sound reproduction.
Amazing for solid bass from a modest sized 5 1/2 inch main speaker that does not muddy up the super clear mid range with a wonderful natural sounding high frequency tweeter. Ultra cheap price with what one should experience as being a very expensive "type" premium performance. These are definitely top performing compact bookshelf speakers and should be capable of favorable audio comparison to similar sized bookshelf speakers costing up to 6 times more. One of my top 10 all time bargain audio equipment purchases. Excited to be a new proud owner.

Good value speakers
These speakers sound good for the size. A bit bright to my ears when tested in my home. Currently using them in the garage, where the noise level would cancel any better sounding speaker anyway. Overall for the price and sound quality I'm very happy with these speakers.

Perfect Hi-Res sound
I'm running 75 watts per speaker. Sound is audiophile Hi-Res quality. I can hear nuances in the music that I've never heard on headphones or in the car. It helps to run a high-pass filter to take out all the low bass from the audio channels. Best bookshelfs I've ever bought for the money hands-down.

Amazing speakers, No sub needed !
I have been in the audio business for over 30 years and have tested many speakers and amps. I have heard speakers that cost way more then these and I must say these MTX are amazing. These have great sound, powerful deep bass and clear highs. They have a great frequency response too. They handle my 120 watt RMS per channel Kenwood amp with ease. Not sure about the one & two star reviews, maybe these people need a more powerful amp with an EQ, not a 20 watt class D amp. MTX makes great quality speakers and for less then $100 dollars it’s a no brainer !!!

Power amp/receiver can make or break these
At first I was concerned because they were light weight, but they had a nice looking finish and grill. Bought as an inexpensive compliment to the ridiculously make-shift system I put together in my shop/garage. It consists of old pieces of equipment nothing remotely matching. So I thought for so little money these might work as a somewhat near field monitor, at least when I'm at my work desk. First impressions hooked up to a cheap class D no frills(used to add blue tooth on the cheap) amp was not good, like at all. But I thought I would let them break in as the woofer is very stiff, the bass went from shallow into distorted while the highs were ridiculously harsh. I started to think I would just use them as stand alone mid-tweeters.(I had used this small class D amp to power several types of speakers with various results, but never one that sounded like this) typically the smaller, the better. But I have to say when I hooked them up to either other older class A/B amps from an old Harmon/Kardon to an old cheap Pyle it was night and day! They were slightly bright, but full and just much much better sounding everywhere.

GREAT SOUNDING SPEAKERS!!!! I Do Recommend these! They are worth more than 3x the cost!!!
They sound great!! Actually you can hear bass without a sub which is rare in today's world. I don't need a sub for a small bedroom. That's for sure!!I have these hooked to a stereo amp (Mini Bluetooth Power Amplifier, FisherMo Wireless Streaming Digital Class D 4 Channel Hi-Fi Amplifiers Audio Stereo Music USB SD Player FM Radio Receiver for Cell Phone PC TV Car) I bought from Amazon. They sound better than ALL I have heard at 3x the cost for one bookshelf speaker. JBL, Klipsch, Dayton Audio, Sony and others!! I did order a sub but I will use it in another room because these sound great alone!!At the time when I purchased these, they were $51 a pair. Now I see they have gone up, but I would still buy them!!Update, I like them SO MUCH that I just ordered a 2nd pair!!!

Impressive
When I first unboxed these they were light in weight so I was worried about the quality. I hooked them up to an old Sony receiver and I was disappointed with the sound. Today I hooked them up to my old Technics receiver and WOW what a difference, These little speakers rock.

Sound great vs price point
I bought these to use as rear speakers for a surround system. They work and sound quite good for the price point. I know audiophiles will disagree but I know what sounds good and these sound very good.
