Did not step up voltage as advertised.
Bought to use as a step up converter for a 220v sewing machine on 110v power. The converter successfully converts the plug type. But the sewing machine only runs at half speed because the converter is not producing 220v power. (Could have had the same result just by purchasing a 110v sewing machine pedal). Sending back for a refund, not worth damaging the sewing machine motor with low voltage.Should be advertised as a step down only.

Great item
Got this to power an old computer from the 90s; it was a UK version so it needed a 220V to function. The setup is very simple; just keep an eye on the input current, unless you wanna cause problems (there is a selector in the back, it goes from 110 to 220V, so you cover the whole globe). The unit itself is noiseless; you hear no buzzing at all; if you touch it while on is cold, and has a very minimal buzzing that you can just feel if you put your hand on the top of the unit.I kept it on, powering the computer (which uses about 100W), for a couple of hours, and had no issues. I saw many negative comments but they were made by people not very tech savvy....you need to know the basics of the power load that you can apply to a transformer, otherwise you will just overload it and burn it.This will be enough to power anything that is below 150W and 10A; don't use it with higher power consumption items or you will overload it.The cons are the weight; which is out of this world, if you are planning to travel and put it in your bag, and the very short power cable. Also keep in mind that the 220V plug in the front is very flimsy; so use care when you plug something in or unplug it.

It performs its function well for my up-conversion needs
It works well and its output socket provides a solid connection. I am using it to power an air purifier bought abroad that requires 220V. First, you have to select the input voltage by using a jumper terminal (my unit came plugged in at the 240V setting, so I had to change its position to 110V). Second, you have to plug your appliance into the correct output-voltage socket. Turn the transformer and appliance on, and you're done. I bought the 200W version and my appliance consumes a maximum of 160W, so it draws current well within the capacity of the transformer. It's heavy, but that is not an issue for me given that my setup is stationary. When I turn the appliance off and leave the transformer on, the transformer remains relatively cool. I'm happy with it and would buy it again.

Power Bright VC200W Voltage Transform
This transformer has just solved an ultimate problem i used to experience for five years . It works really good and so very organized. Unlike other transformers , it comes with fuse protection, 220v outlet already built in , 110v outlet, too, already built in. Other transformers you have to worry about changing power currency and rate due to the source . Yet , with is transformer , you don’t have to worry anymore. Just look at the back of the device , choose you power rate and you all set. Recommend this transformer for light inddor use only.

Power supply of my whole flat went off because of the transformer?!!!
So I plug in my US Honeywell Air purifier into the transformer and use in Hong Kong 220V. It was perfectly fine in the first 2 months. Afterwards, one day the plug of the purifier loosened from the transformer while the air purifier was working. My husband pulled it out from the transformer, and then plugged it in again with the transformer still on. The air purifier instantly burnt off with sparkle for 1 sec on the top panel. And then both the air purifier and the transformer stopped working. After 1 minute, the power supply of the whole house went off! We tried to reset the power supply by turning off and then on all the switches inside the power control box of the flat. However, it failed. We had to seek help from local power supplier company at 11.30pm. They have checked and found no problem for the circuit outside the flat. The power for the whole flat still hadn’t come back. We could not investigate if there’s any problem from the power control box because it’s cemented on the wall . Eventually we had to go to hotel for that night!!!!!!!!!!Next day, a worker repaired the power control box by changing a new one for us. I have changed the fuse in the transformer as well. The transformer worked again. However, the air purifier doesn’t work anymore. It’s very sad that only after operating for 2 months we have to buy a new air purifier !!!!!Can the seller explain what’s wrong ???????!!!!!!!

great buy!
This was much better than I expected for the price. Solidly built, compact size and not too heavy. I'm using it to step up 110V to 220V for a gaming PC I built in Korea. I only wish that the 220V outlet was placed a little higher from the bottom edge of the transformer because my plug (which has a cord pointing down 90 degrees) juts past the bottom when plugged in. But it wouldn't be a problem if I use a straight plug/cord, and I like the compact design of the transformer so I can't complain. The unit also has a 110V outlet so it can be used to step down voltage from 240V/220V.

Had to Pursue a Request for Replacement
The 110 volt panel outlet (shown in the bottom left corner of the front of the unit in the picture) had a defective connection internal to the outlet itself, which pushed one of the internal metal connectors out of position the first or second time I inserted a plug. The result was that the connection on the 110V outlet was intermittent. The purpose of buying the unit was to have 110 volts available when traveling, and unfortunately this issue occurred in a country with only 240Volt service, so I had to jiggle the 110 volt plugs to get a connection. The company offered to replace the unit, but it would have been unreasonable to ask them to ship one to Hyderabad, so I decided to put up with it when I returned to the US. They did respond promptly to an email requesting assistance, and indicated they would proceed to authorize the replacement once I got back to the US.

Blew 3 times with a 80W unit
As soon as I plugged it in, it blew. Replaced the fuse and it blew again. Had to return. Couldn't run a thing on it.
