Lifesaver for New Parents!
The Graco duetsoothe swing & rocker has been a good purchase for our family! Our baby loves it, and so do we. The swing motion is smooth and calming, and the multiple speed settings and soothing sounds make it easy to find the perfect combo to help our little one relax or fall asleep. One of the best features is the detachable rocker being able to move baby around the house without disturbing their rest is a huge plus. The seat is well-padded and cozy, and the Sapphire color is even more beautiful in person, stylish without being too flashy.Assembly was straightforward, and the build feels sturdy and safe. It’s also great that it can be plugged in or run on batteries for flexibility. If you're a new parent looking for something reliable, versatile, and comforting for your baby, this is 100% worth it. Highly recommend!

My son loves this swing
My baby loves! The vibration setting helped when he had trapped gas. The different speed settings helps put him to sleep on his own and he looks comfortable sitting in it. The only thing I wish was different was that the stars rotated or moved, they’re stationary and it’s boring to my baby.

Still useful 2 years later without the swing!
I purchased this 2 years ago for my 2nd child. I got rid of the swing and kept the rocker. Now, with baby #3, it is still proving to be useful. Baby fell asleep and is taking the longest nap ever! I’m so glad we kept it!

Easy to clean, swing or rock option is a must
I loved having the option to swing or rock. Super easy to clean as well.

So far, so good.
Ok folks!....So based on all the problems listed in multiple reviews...i was SUPER skeptical about purchasing this swing. So skeptical in fact...that i decided NOT to get it, but then a family member got it for us. So here's the lowdown so far:-Shipped on time.-No missing pieces, and all the pieces are in good shape.-Super easy to put together...im a 5ft tall woman and i did it myself with children in tow in under 15min. Instructions were common sense & easy to follow.-It's not a compact swing, but im actually surprised how well it fits in our small apartment. It's an airy design, so doesn't really disrupt our open floor plan.-The patterned part is that soft plastic-type fabric, easy for cleaning spit-up off of. I am a little disappointed with the other fabric. It looks minky, but the feel is actually more like a rough felt sort of. But does feel like it's made to last at least.-The little bears are cute and i was surprised that he immediately fixated on them and seemed to like them.-He's been in there for mere minutes and is already asleep...i can't even believe it. I'm just sitting here watching him in awe that he's sleeping without an hour and a half of me having to walk him around...breaking my back.-It does sway ever so slightly when it's on the max speed, but it's a safe, reasonable and minimal amount imho.-It's not silent...it does make a side to side noise like all swings do, but again, I find it to be a normal amount...isn't waking baby up, and i think we'd sleep through it fine, as it's steady white noise.-There were complaints that's the seat tilts to the side, ours doesn't.-There were complaints that the legs don't sit flush, ours do.-There were complaints that the seat is too shallow...i find it to be an appropriate standard shaped seat. My 5 week old fits fine and seems will grow into the seat well enough.-So far it doesn't make that horrid creaking noise I've heard in videos...but that seems to start afterwards, so I'll update this post if it starts.-I'll also update if the motor slows or dies like others have said has happened. So! ...as of right now, it's looking good, and hoping it stays that way!UPDATE: Baby is now 10 weeks and has gotten big and heavy. We've had to upgrade our go-to speed from 4, to now a 5. So the people with BIG babies who say the machine barely swings...I TOTALLY believe them. I'm guessing we'll be maxing out the speed soon ourselves. The machine makes the occasional clicking now, not super often, and I think I know why. One day the machine was swinging and baby was in it, and my daughter leaned on the swing (which was stopping it from moving, while the motor was still running) to put the baby's sock back on. THAT'S when the slight clicking started. Couple weeks after that...my daughter got a basket ball stuck under the swing while it was moving...and the clicking got slightly worse. I constantly have to remind my husband to TURN OFF the swing first...because he makes the swing stop when he deals with the baby, and I cant imagine thats good for the motor. The sound is getting worse each time something like that happens. So im willing to bet that a lot of the people who say they get really bad clicking after a certain amount of time...might be harming the swing in this same way.Has the swing been worth it? YESSSSSSSSS. Omg. It has SAVED us on some really bad days. So worth it.UPDATE: Baby will be 12 months old in a couple weeks. It's finally happened...the swing is making that loud, continuous creaking noise. Loud enough to wake baby up if there's no music or white noise to drown it out. Such a big heavy baby now though, it's no surprise that the swing finally can't quite keep up. The heavier he gets, the more wobble is in the motion of the swing. But overall, we're not only happy with how the swing has helped us...I wish I would have bought a second one for Grammy's house. After all the stress of deciding whether to buy this thing in the beginning...turns out it was the #1 best thing we got and the one thing we couldn't live without. With my injuries...I don't think I would have made it without this swing for baby.

If you have the space, this swing is a must have for new parents!
We would not have survived our first 3 months of parenthood without this swing! For his first 3 months our son took almost every nap in the swing, and even slept in it at night sometimes. Here are the pros:1) It plugs in and runs off of batteries. Surprisingly, not many swings on the market plug in. If we had a battery-powered swing we would have burned through so many batteries.2) It is not down on the ground. Many swings are on short frames that swing really close to the floor. I would find this problematic because you have to bend down so far to put baby in the swing and take him out. I'm 5'3" and this swing hits at about my hip or a little lower. Regardless, I don't have to bend down a ton. Also we have a pretty big dog (100 lbs lab). If the swing was close to the ground the dog could come put his face right in baby's face. With this swing, if it is not moving, the dog can look into the swing, but would have to stretch a bit to lick baby's face. At this point, the dog stays away because he has been hit by the moving swing a few times.3) It swings in three different directions. It can swing back and forth with baby facing either side, or side-to-side with baby facing front. Sometimes our baby liked the back and forth motion, and sometimes he preferred the side-to-side. I could also change his vantage point depending on the light, how much stimulation I wanted him to have, etc.4) The frame is very sturdy. I don't have to worry about the dog or anything else knocking the swing over or moving it.5) The basket comes off the frame to become a rocker with the option of a vibrating seat. We didn't really use the vibrating feature very much. When I was on maternity leave, my husband would get up with the baby at 4:30 or 5 am. He would take him downstairs, feed him, play a little, and then put him back to sleep in the swing. When he left for work, he would just carry the rocker up to our bedroom and put it on the floor next to the bed with the sleeping baby. This allowed me to sleep until 7 or 8 when baby woke up again. We would also take the rocker down to our basement and put baby in it while we watched TV or were hanging out in the basement. The rocker sits pretty low to the ground so the dog can stick his face in there, but it is still very substantial and I don't have to worry about the dog tipping it over at all. The fact that it is so substantial makes it a bit heavy and awkward to carry. I didn't really like carrying it down the stairs with the baby in it, or while holding the baby. My 6' tall husband had a much easier time carrying it. I guess this is technically a con, but I would rather it be more substantial and harder to carry than cheap and flimsy.6) It has an insert for newborns so baby's head and body isn't rolling back and forth with the swing. We took the insert out at about 2.5 months when baby could support his head pretty well and the insert seemed to create an awkward fit. Once we took the insert out, I could tell baby became much more comfortable than he had been in recent weeks.7) Has 6 speeds. When baby was a newborn we used speeds 1 or 2, and as he got older moved up to 3 and 4. We haven't really used the 5 and 6 speeds.8) Other features: music and white noise. These are nice to use on occasion, but I wouldn't really miss them if they weren't there.9) Mobile: the mobile just three white bears. It doesn't turn or anything. I think a more interesting mobile would be nice. But my son seems to like the bears. Sometimes he will wake up and just stare at them or "talk" to them (it is super cute).Cons:1) It is pretty big and takes up quite bit of space. If you live in small house or apartment with more limited space this might not work very well.2) Akin to the size, it is not portable. You can't move the entire swing easily between rooms or easily fold it up when not in use. Again, if you are tight on space this could pose an issue. We used the swing so much that I don't think we would have ever put it away even if we could.3) I would like a way to hang stuff from the swing. For instance, sometimes we will hang Freddy the Firefly from the swing for my son to look at or play with while in the swing. We have to use a huge Mommy hook which makes noise when it swings back and forth.4) Some have complained about the sound the motor makes. It is very rhythmic ticking as the swing moves back and forth. I can see how this could bother some people. I think it is purposeful. The rhythmic sound is like a metronome, and I think it help lull baby to sleep.
