PERFECT FOR OUR LITTLE DIEGO!
ULTRA VARI KENNEL CRATEThis is a good and well made crate. It was easy to assemble and is made pretty well. The high side metal vents provide light and air along with security for your baby. This is an important part of house breaking and having the proper fit for your animal usually discourages soiling inside the crate. This crate measures 36x25x27 inches and weighs in at 18.5 pounds. It is sturdy and doesn't move around while your dog is moving around inside. Our Diego weighs in at 46 pounds and is approximately 25 inches so this is the perfect fit for him. It allows him room to move, lay down, and stand up yet it isn't so big as to let him have room to do his business. We did have an open crate for him but he quickly figured out that if he lifted his leg, he could take care of business while not soiling his crate. This covered crate works much better and seems more secure for his wildness and bad attitudes! The crate is easy to clean, move and store. We are not big travelers but the crate has places for hold down straps for plane travel. I personally would secure the door better for air travel. We place blankets on the bottom to keep things cozy and comfy for our little spoiled brat.We are retired so Diego is only in the crate when we leave to go out. He walks right in and settles in nicely. We keep his crate in our attached and heated garage. The only problem is the door latch. The top latch fits great but the bottom one is a little tricky to operate. I suppose when you put a metal door in molded plastic this is to be expected. If you have an animal that you need to keep contained while you are out or working, this one works, is made well, and is sturdy. We are pleased with this product.

Well Made
This is not the first crate I've purchased made by this company, but is the largest. It is for my Border Collie/Golden mix and is the perfect size for him...he likes it better than the wire crate I used to use for him, as this one feels more like a "Den". My other two dogs, Australian Terriers, use the smaller size and they love them as well. The door latches well, it is well ventilated, and sturdy. The lip around the inside edge of the door is an added bonus to keep the dog from sticking his/her paws out the bottom of the door. It takes all of 5 minutes to assemble, and the door is reversible. I throw an old blanket in my crates so the dog can "nest" by rearranging it to their liking. I think the dogs feel nice and safe in crates of this type. All three of my dogs are crated at bedtime and they love their crates! For those who think crating might be cruel...dogs naturally like to "Den", and a crate like this satisfies that desire, IMO. I certainly do not recommend crating for longer than 8-10 hours maximum, but for an adult dog, that is not a problem. They know that when they go to their crates, it's time to settle down and go to sleep. These crates are practically indestructable, and approved for use on an airline...one of the crates I use for the Terriers is the same one they were shipped to me in 6 years ago and it's still like new.

Secure, dark den like, but no housetraining divider
When my puppy out grew his first wire crate, I knew he needed a plastic one. This fits the bill.It was pretty easy to assemble, they even give extra screws/knobs. But I had a previous plastic crate that used quarter-turn knobs to lock the halves in place and that was much easier.I think this crate makes my dog feel secure when I leave him in it. It is also easy to clean for when accidents happen (yes, I really wish it came with a divider). I did my research before buying, and I agree for the price it’s a great plastic crate. I got the 36” crate, my puppy is a Australian cattle dog/mini-Aussie mix, and he has plenty room to grow. Most importantly, I am happy leaving my puppy in it and am not worried that he might hurt himself.

Great choice as a first "room" for older pup
First the bad: The product arrived with a small hole in the plastic--about the size of a quarter in the entry frame. If I didn't need this immediately, I would have asked for a refund and sent it back. I'll follow up with seller to see if I can get only the top shell replaced. Now the rest: Plenty of room for a 40lb (and growing) german shorthaired pointer. Pup hasn't gone crazy and looks like the kennel can take some abuse even if he did. The assembly was simple, but some of the fasteners didn't fit well. Luckily they sent extras.Overall: disappointed that the kennel arrived damaged, but we're making do so far. Crate training success.

Nice kennel for my Border Collie
I was looking for the perfect Den for my Border Collie, that will last forever, will work as a training place for housebreaking, also for sleeping, plus that will work as a safe traveling kennel, it has to meet the breeder specification of size, and durability. When received, it was a big Kennel, but when I have my Border Collie, I have understand why the breeder asks for this size, the dog can relax inside, can curl, sleep, chew a toy, and stay calm when I have to leave she alone for 2 or 3 hours on reunion days, and sleeps all night without trouble inside his Vari kennel Ultra. It has added safety measures in it, has four holes in the corners to insert a big plastic tie wrap, just in case the screws fail, and also has holes for another plastic tie wraps, to ultra secure the metal door. The latch system of the door is secure but it is noisy. It is a "Go for sure" buy........!
