So far ok
I bought these to re-pot my shop bought herbs that have outgrown their pots. The planters arrived in the Amazon box with no other packaging or instructions so I’m assuming I’ve threaded the cotton correctly. So far they seem ok, only used the one so far and haven’t filled the water reservoir so it will be interesting to see if they can keep plants alive for a week, but fingers crossed for them

Badly moulded - won't hold water
ordered a 3 pack... one of the exterior moulds has a 40mm x 1mm gap because the window part was not attached properly so it will not hold any water rendering it useless... There's also excessive plastic that I assume would have been cut away if it had been moulded correctly. Should never have left the factory floor as it's clearly a reject.Update, Seller will not send a replacement and will at best only offer a 30% refund which makes no sense. Better off getting the £1 troughs and putting some gravel in the bottom.

A simple product but a good one.
They don't come with many instructions but these self-watering pots are very good value. I've just grown my first set of radishes in them. The see through reservoir is a great help. The opening to the water reservoir is quite narrow so you need to use a funnel or pour carefully. The instructions are limited so you need to know that you need the white strips of fabric to trail in the water and be fed through the gaps.

Very handy
So impressed with these so far. So much so, a bought a second set. I have a small, unheated greenhouse on my west-facing balcony. It gets a lot of sun on hot days and I can’t keep up with watering. Potted my herbs in these and the soil stays perfectly and evenly moist at all times. Even in this hot spell we’ve been having over the last couple of days.

Perfect and easy, no everyday watering
These r really good. Bit much for plastic but still they do the job. And with the water at the bottom, makes it easier for them to get enough water.. I'm currently growing morning glory (just started to flower) and cherry tomatoes (no tomatoes yet but it's getting tall and proud. I have one left but need soil. Oh and these r on my window sill not outside. Plenty of sun too if anyone is in the same position as me with no garden. Will be getting more. And replacing the gross metal ones with no holes in the bottom, they just help make mouldy looking leaves . .... deffinetly worth it for newbies too. I'm still learning. U know ur getting old when u get excited over the first flower on ur plant haha..

Attractive Planters
Brilliant planters for the window sill. Herbs are starting to come through. The planters look attractive too.

Awesome.
Seems to work and is the perfect size for taking plants that will sit on the window sill. Had to look up how to thread the cord but my re-potted plants are doing much better now and watering through the little hole is a piece of cake, along with the window to see the levels. Must get more, soon.

Great idea that doesn’t actually work!
This is great to have growing herbs in your kitchen. These were small supermarket pots of herbs that I replanted in the containers and they have flourished! I have been chopping away at them continuously since I planted them about 3 weeks ago. But I bought the “self watering containers” because I wanted the herbs to survive when we go away for short breaks or even longer holidays. However, I have had to top up the water reserves almost daily- putting in water to the maximum. So I fear these herbs will not survive even a short break without my constant manual irrigation! Shame, as herbs have grown and spread really well.
