Fun toy for little "drivers"
We got this for my son's 4th birthday, and he loves it! It took an hour or so to put it together. We used scissors to cut the pieces out of the plastic mold, then easily snapped everything together. The pieces themselves are labeled, making it easy to follow the instructions even if you pop all the pieces out at once. Once put together, it doesn't come apart, so be prepared to store it as is. There are loose boats and other pieces that aren't attached as well. It's small enough that we just use a cup to fill the toy with water. We use small pebbles instead of sand, making for easier cleanup. It's easy to dump the water when play is over, and there's not a large amount of waste (we use it to water plants). When it comes to play, this toy is really fun for both my 4 year old and 6 year old sons. The water wheel actually works and creates a current that moves the boats around the water path. My boys like to fill the little buckets with the pebbles and move them around on boats through the water. My 4yo generally loves to play with cars, trains, planes, etc. and "drives" them everywhere. This toy let's him do that with boats on water!

MADE in USA!!
I was so happy when this arrived to see it is MADE in USA I just had to tell everyone who might be thinking about it!I spent some time considering a water toy like this for my 4yr old son this xmas. Since its a Christmas gift we haven't actually played with it yet. BUT I was really impressed over its size (its much bigger in person than the photos make it appear!) and that it is made in USA. That should big a big selling point I have no idea why they don't mention that! I love to buy made in USA stuff but unless you're actually searching it out, its hard to find!I noticed all the little pieces come on a larger plastic sheet and will need punched out and put together. That should be fun for my son to help do, he likes to assemble things and he can help us. If there are any sharp parts leftover as some reviewers mentioned we will sand them off too! He has his own little toolbox. So I see that as a plus, and not a minus! That's how they're able to get the cost down, I didn't expect much from a $20 plastic toy to be honest, so it was a really pleasant surprise when this arrived, as I had been trying to decide between this and the $100 aquaset but the price put the other one out of our budgetI will update my review after christmas as to if the product actually works or how much fun it is for him, but I anticipate it to be a 5 star product (will update later if wrong). I do notice that the photo does not match up with the colors we received. Our big tray is blue, not yellow as shown. I hadn't really noticed that when it arrived however and I don't think it will matter but in case the colors matter to anyone, the big water tray you get might be blue and not yellow as pictured. I haven't compared the colors of the other parts, its not in front of me at the moment.I can't wait until he opens this one. Its definitely his biggest present so far, and thats always a bit exciting to watch! I'm so glad he will have a big one to open! (it shipped in a much larger box, and when it arrived, I remember thinking, what in the world did we order that is this big??)UPDATE: Works great :o) The mechanism (paddle wheel) that you crank, really makes the boats go around in the water. I was impressed (didn't expect it to work so well) Really nice! We loved it. Great play value for the money! Very pleased! I was able to fill it with water, and then lift it up later and spill into my sink. The only thing is I wish the diagram of where the stickers go was more clear. I wasn't sure if I put the stickers (green/red arrows) on the correct way, on both sides. I put the green arrow to the right (facing up) and the red arrow facing down (on left side) the same way on both sides. I'm not familiar with waterway signs, and wanted to get everything right.2nd UPDATE 12/22/12: Storage might be an issue because the box it comes in doesn't fit the product anymore after you put it together. That tall crane thing sticks out quite a bit and prevents it going back in the box again. I don't think it can be removed once its in place, at least not without breaking it. So for almost a year it was stored out of the box, and then before playing with it each time I had to clean the dust and cat hair from it lol - I finally cut slits in the box, taped more cardboard in the right size to enlarge the box and make it bigger so that the product can fit back into its box again (which I had saved because I liked the big picture on the front that showed what was inside!) - so just don't expect the product to go back inside its box again for storage after its all assembled, and you won't be disappointed!

Lots of fun for my 3 yr old, but not high quality
This is a cute little toy, but just be aware it is quite low quality. It clearly fits the "made in China" stereotype. I am giving it 4 stars only because my son really enjoys it, regardless of the quality. It is simple and fun, just don't expect too much. It is also pretty small which makes it easy to fill and dump out. Note that you have to assemble each and every little item (snap the molded forms off the plastic frame - scissors help - and snap all pieces together, attach stickers, etc). I was able to include my son in this process and he enjoyed trying to match up the pieces. We have filled it with water only since we don't have any sand, and that seems to be just fine!

I'm glad i went for it
We were looking for a different water table now that my son is 3.5. We didn't want anything huge because honestly the kiddo is happy with a bucket and a house (lol). But, he loves trucks and anything construction related, so seeing the little crane on this thing I figured he would love it and I was right. It was a little bit difficult to get all the pieces out - get a pair of snips or small sheers because scissors just won't cut it. But, honestly, we were prepared for that when we bought this. My son plays with this every day. We've put water, bubbles, rice, water beads, and sand in it. My son loves the paddles that creates a current in the water to move all the boats along. He can either play on the ground or up on a table. It really is wonderful and different than anything else I've seen. It also floats in the baby pool. All around it's a win. I was a bit nervous based on the negative reviews, but I'm glad we went for it. It's really cute!

I should have known it was going to be too good to be true
I was very excited to purchase this for my son. He loves sand and water and this had both. For the price I thought it was a steal! I should have known it was going to be too good to be true. The pieces are very cheaply made. The plastic tray that holds everything is very flimsy. The pieces are hard to put together. My son has yet to play with it, but I do not foresee this toy lasting past this summer.
