Portable easy to use value for money
The unit came well packed I tried the unit. 1. The grey strap would not go round my hand it was necessary to make a temporary strap to fit round my neck.2. The unit needs a glare shield I made one of card to stop the sun blotting out .3. When using a composite video Source the picture rings I have not checked whether the BNC input is terminated.4. There is no carrying case not a big issue but the carrying strap and reflection shield could all be incompassed in the design .Apart from these points it is very useful addition to an engineers toolbar. For the price it is great value for money. But I have not tested the ptz or network tester.

POMIACAM - 4 in 1 CCTV Tester
Although I’m not a CCTV installer, I have fitted quite a few different systems for friends and family and one of the most annoying parts has been having to keep going up and down the ladder to make adjustments to the camera angle and then go back to the TV/monitor to check it, which is where something like this handy little portable monitor comes in really handy. The tester is quite compact, measuring approximately 13.5cm x 9cm x 4cm (at the widest parts) and nice and light weight. On the front you have a 5” colour LCD screen to be able to see the video feed from your camera and a series of 4 LED indicator lights across the top. The screen has a very small sun/anti-glare shield built in.On the left hand side you have 4 buttons that can be used to control the Pan/Tilt/Zoom functions of supported cameras, as well as an RS485 port. The right hand side is home to most of the power connections and these include an on/off switch for the tester, a MicroUSB port for charging the built in 18650 2600mA battery, a 3.5mm audio in jack socket and a 12v 1A output socket that can be used to power a connected camera when testing it. You also have a small LED flashlight. The top edge has an RJ45 network socket that can be used to test cable connections, a 5v USB A socket, 3 x buttons that are used to zoom in/out, access the menu and scroll through the different settings. The last button will switch the LED flashlight on and off. Finally, at the right hand end is the BNC connector for attaching the cameras video output to.On the back you have a battery compartment that houses the user replaceable battery and 2 slots that you can feed the included hook and loop strap through, so that you can attach the tester to your wrist.***** In The Box *****1 x IV5 Camera Tester1 x Camera Power Cable1 x BNC Video Cable1 x USB-A to Micro Cable1 x Audio Cable1 x RS485 Connector1 x Charging Plug1 x Ethernet Tester1 x Wrist Strap1 x User Guide***** Installation / Usage *****Using this device really is very straight forward and is pretty much plug and play. You basically need to connect the video feed from your camera to the tester (if your camera hasn’t currently got power, you will need to connect it to the power output of the tester using the supplied cable). Now you simply switch on the tester and the video feed should appear on the screen so that you can check its position is set correctly.Depending on the camera type, you may need to switch between AHD, TVI, CVBS modes using the menu.***** Conclusion *****I have to say that this is a really handy little tool when working with Analog camera systems and would make the task of setting camera positions soo much quicker and easier.I love that the unit is self powered and requires no mains power, making it nice and portable and I also really like having the ability to power the camera from the tester. It’s also great to see an easily replaceable battery. The wrist strap is basic, but works fine and is a really useful addition when working up a ladder. One slight annoyance is that you do not get any kind of storage case to keep everything together – a simple zip up pouch would have been fine.I tried the network cable tester, but couldn’t seem to get it to do anything. I connected one end of the cable to the tester and then placed the little adapter on the other end, switched to the cable test mode, but nothing shows on the screen, where I believe it should show the connected pins.I do not have any PTZ cameras, so have not been able to test that functionality. At £69, I think the price is pretty reasonable and would definitely be worth the money if you are installing a lot of analogue cameras. It would have been awesome if this little unit supported digital IP cameras (as most systems I have fitted in the past couple of years have been), although I have seen units with this functionality, but they cost considerably more than this model. So overall, a nice little tester that works well and does what it’s supposed to.
