I have read some of the reviews made by others claiming it cracked when they put boiling water in it. This is made of Borosilicate. A variant of glass that is extremely durable and almost immune to heat shock that would shatter other types of glass.I do not know what they did that made it break, but I would wager it was damaged before they used it. Understand that a tiny crack is all it takes. You may not even be able to see such a crack.But I have purchased six of these over the years. About one every two years or so. They last a few years with me pouring boiling water in them before I add my instant Coffee, usually twice or three times a day.While they are virtually indestructible for normal use, they are still a type of glass. If you drop it, it will still crack. And once you see a crack, you should throw it away. Broken glass is not a good addition to your Coffee or Tea.Use your brains. These are great cups. Just be gentle with them. They are worth the caution.

I bought this because I wanted a special cup for drinking my loose tea, and this was a bit of a "splurge" item for me. It makes my tea time a little more special.The cup is stylish and holds at least 16 oz of tea. The double walled design is not only functional, but looks really cool as well. It's nice to see the coloration of the different teas, as well - I enjoy not only the rich mahogany color of black teas, but the honey color of green tea, and the bright plum color of herbal teas made with hibiscus! It is a lot lighter to carry than I thought it would be - even filled with liquid. It holds the heat far better than any ceramic mug I have used.The Tea Bag Buddy was an added bonus, and I thought it would be a neat gadget to have. I don't do a lot of tea bags, as I prefer loose tea, but when I need a "caffeine vehicle", tea bags are the most convenient for me. The Tea Bag Buddy takes a little getting used to, but it's very nice, and allows you to squeeze out a tea bag without burning your fingers or anything. It also is nice to know that the tea bag string won't get sucked into the tea and saturated, which is rather messy!I'm very pleased with this purchase. The quality is outstanding. If you are a tea drinker, this combination is wonderful to add to your collection!

I am a tea drinker, and I ordered this mug because of the tea bag holding feature, the cover and the large size of the mug itself. About the only thing about it that I like, is the large lightweight cup itself. It does keep the tea hot, cover on or off and the handle stays cool. Instead of making two cups now, I am satisfied with the one really big cup.As for the gimmicky top that holds the bag ... the bag wants to float on the top of the water, taking a longer time to reach the strength that I drink, which is not really that strong. I have to lift the top and dunk the bag into the water, just as you do with normally with any cup of water and a tea bag.The squeezing out feature on the top doesn't mean much to me, the only good it does is hold the used tea bag, but anything will do that.I love the cup itself, but I don't think it is worth $15.00. If it wasn't light weight, I probably would have returned it. At first I wasn't even sure that the cup was glass, it has a different look to it, almost like plastic.I wash it by hand and have been very careful after reading some of the other reviews. If I could find a lightweight cup this size without the top, and a more reasonable price, I would gladly buy it.

The bottom of the handle of mine is folded 180° back on itself. Not 90° or so like the pictures. Not as comfortable to hold this way.Love it though. Very functional and gets lots of compliments.

I love this tea mug and its very cool lid! I’ve sent it through the microwave multiple times per day since I purchased it, and the dishwasher, too. It is perfect for making a nice big mug of tea, using a teabag. The lid holds the teabag string, and keeps the tea hot for hours! I liked it so much, I got two!

I use this everyday. It is the easiest way to strain your tea bag without burning you fingers. You just flip it over and store the bag until you toss it out.

I purchased the mug with hesitation not knowing if a double insulated mug would really keep beverages hot but to my surprise the mug does. That being said, since the mug is cool to the touch you must be careful when drinking liquid as it is extremely hot (depending what you’re drinking and how hot you make it).

GOIN ON MY 2ND DAY OF USE, NO FAULTS HERE! DAY 1 , A "HOT CUP OF TEA". TOP/LID WORKED WELL, CUP DID CAUSE SOME STEAMING AND MOISTURE ON THE INSIDE (NOT THE DOUBLE WALL) OF THE CUP. IT SURELY KEPT THE CUP AND TEA "HOT" FOR A VERY LONG TIME! 3RD DAY, MORNING JO, DITTO ON 2ND DAY! I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL OF THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, CRACKING, SHATTERING, LEAKING, ETC...! "I DID NOT USE MY DISH WASHER"! RECOMMENDED FOR DRINKERS! I HAVEN'T TRIED THE COLD SIDE USE!

It was really cute but the glass is so thin on the bottom that it broke when I was washing it in the sink yesterday. I still have the little green steeping hat and that works great with any mug, but I’m disappointed that the mug broke so easily.

Lovely looking mugs but so fragile that they shattered before I could use them once.
