Quality
This filter is high quality through and through. I’ve had other filters before but this one rivals the ones from B+W. Hats off to an American company dedicated to quality!

Saved my lens!
I put this on my lens almost immediately after getting my new camera. The photos were great always like it was not even there! I had this on my camera for just over a year, then I dropped my camera and this thing saved my lens. The filter broke but my lens was in perfect condition because of the way I dropped it. It was a little hard to get off after the incident but i immediately ordered a new one. It’s a must have:

Questionable Quality Control ? See Attached Pic. Arrived Dirty and Defective - Unable to get Clean
Ok, first of all - just so you know that Im not a Newibe - Ive been Photographing Since Minolta was in the camera business way back when, so needless to say that I have seen and used some great gear over the years, and I have a filter on every of the 40+ lens that I own.So I bought a new Lens ( Tamron 150-500mm for Sony FE mount ) and was looking for a decent UV filer to replace the cheap freebie one that came with the New Lens - I tried another and it was not up to par on the image quality side, so looking through the Nurmorus Reviews Here on Amazon, I found this 82MM MC-UV filter that promises all the best " Nano Coating - Multi Coated - No vignette - 25Yr Iron Clad Warranty- Yadda-Yadda" with an enormous amount of Positive Reviews ??? With the exception of another reviwer stating that he had received a Dirty Filter that he was unable to get clean, most all reviews are positive. So I thinking , Maybe this guy just received a bad or opened filter that someone had returned,Well Now I know Better !What I received was a Sealed X1 UV Filter that was inside a Box that I thought I would Never get Open, then inside was another Plastic Case That was sealed w a large ( Warning Sticker " you have 30 Days to Register for your Warranty ) So when I finally got through all of the Extremely Difficult Packaging to carefully Remove and check this filter, What I found Shockingly; was the Cloudiest, Dirtiest Filter ( on both Sides, with what looked like shiny particles In the layers of glass and a longish Center Shiny Scratch Spot Dead Center ! ) - You can see this scratch in the attached photo and a lot of the dust that just stays stuck no matter what you do. In my 28 Years of Photography, I havent seen a Dirtier or Hazier Lens Filter, Thats A Fact.I said Ok, no problem, I will use the nice Red Lens Cloth that came with the filter, and wipe it on both sides, Wrong , the red fibers Stuck to both sides of this Filter like it the glass was Sandpaper !I said Ok, No issue, I have A brand New "Lens Pen", - Opened the New LensPen- tried that and it didnt even help,I said OK, I have the best Lens Cloth made "Magic Fiber", I will Clean it with that. I got a new one from my stockpile, opened it and wiped both sides of the lens, noticeing tha the Red fibers were coming off and after some more polishing, also the shiny particles that were stuck on the lens that looked like Galss particles also started to come off ( maybe part of the lens coating ), anyway after 5min of this, I noticed that when I hold it up to the light , there is still a scratch spot in the center that will not clean off. So for one more go, I grabed the Windex, Dampened my Magic Fiber and cleaned both sides, Now I have beatiful Cicular streaks with that scratch spot still in the center.I went and got an Magnifing Lens and My 1200LM Streamlight and still was unable to tell if the Spot in the center was just inside or the coating,so I soaked both sides by spraying the X1 Filter Directly with Windex until it ran off and onto my kitchen table. I then Let it dry and cleaned off with a Paper Lens Cleaning Towel. The Longish Scratch Spot is still there in the center, and Streaks all around.See the Attached Photo. Not Only is this Disapponting in that the Quality Control evediently had a failure issue with this filter,I am now hesitant to purchase any other filter in their lineup because of the issue with the one I received, also the other filters in their lineup are extremely overpriced.Beside those points, the X1 UV Filter seems to Attract Dust that can Not be easily removed if at all.For $25.00 USD that I paid for it, This X1 UV filter is most definitely overpriced when a sub 20 dollar China filters work better !I ended up replacing this filter with the ( $19.50 USD) 82mm Artcise MC-UV Filter - that beats this X1 filter in every test I tried on the same lens.Sorry BreakThrough Photography , I had High Hopes, but this X1 UV filter just dosent work & has too many Issues !I returned this X1-UV Filter to Amazon and received a REFUND !

At first I was less than pleased with this filter and was on the verge of sending it back. After removing it from the box, I noticed it was somewhat dirty and needed to be cleaned. I don't think it was used, but instead may have sat around in some less favorable conditions before it was sealed up in the plastic case. It was made worse by the fact that I ordered a B+W polarizer at the same time and it came out of its case in pristine condition with no cleaning required. While cleaning for the better part of 15 minutes I thought I had some aberrations in the glass that weren't surface contaminants. It likely wouldn't be enough to show in images based on their size, but it would surely be the nail in the coffin for purchasing another item from this company again. As luck would have it, what I thought were issues with the glass started to come off on what was going to be my last attempt at removing them. Everything looked good after all the time I wasn't expecting to put into a brand new filter.Shooting with this filter since then has been great. It cleans easily, screws on smoothly and doesn't create any noticeable distortion in pictures. Dust blows off quickly and water spotting comes off with minimal effort. On my Canon 17-55mm lens, the photos don't have any noticeable chromatic aberrations or purple fringing when shooting wide focal lengths beyond what the lens produces on its own. In all my with/without tests, I haven't found any where it's evident there's even a filter present which isn't something I can say for others I've had in the past. The field testing speaks for itself though and it's done well in several months of use. Even at 17mm which is the wide end of the lens I'm primarily using this on, the color fringing at the edges is no worse than the standalone lens without a filter. At the end of the day I'd purchase this filter again and recommend it to others, but the first impression could use a bit of work. This is my first product from Breakthrough Photography and I'll certainly look at their lineup for future purchases.PROS- Easy to clean- No noticeable distortion compared to a standalone lens without filters- Great price compared to more expensive competitors- Works with center pinch-type lens capsCONS- Aluminum threads may not be as robust as brass if you plan to take it on and off frequently. This is more for awareness than anything though and is a trade off for the price point.- Arrived dirty

I'm not sure about the negative review from 2016 but this filter is as good as you will find anywhere and at any price. Packaging oozes quality and the filter is superb quality - take it from a self-confessed pixel-peeper!!
