I bought this product for myself, not for a baby. It is very thick and white, so I will not be putting it on my face any more. It looks like it has zinc oxide in it, because that comes out very white, but the ingredient is (I think it's called) titanium dioxide, which I believe is considered by dermatologists to be a good blocking sunscreen. I am giving it five stars because most people don't mind putting white stuff on a baby if it's going to protect them, and THIS COMPANY'S PRODUCTS ARE GREAT!!! Among other ingredients in this are lemongrass and cedar, and both of these are very effective at repelling mosquitoes and other biting insects. So not only are you protecting your baby from the sun's harmful rays, you are protecting him or her from getting bitten! I lived in Central America and I was constantly getting bitten and had to start using the stuff with DEET in it because I had scabs and welts all over me. Then I tried some California Baby lotion that wasn't even specifically for repelling insects, and it worked AS WELL AS THE DEET!!!! I would guess that perhaps it needs to be applied more often, but I keep that lotion on hand and put it on every time I go out because where I live I get bitten too. I can not say enough good things about this company's ingredients and how effective they are at repelling insects. The only 2 negatives about this particular product is how chalky white my face was (but I am not a baby, who does not care about that stuff), and the lack of friendliness that I felt when I contacted the company. Otherwise, five stars all the way!!! And by the way I did not get sunburned! I will be using it on other body parts than my face in the future.PS Some people have complained about the citrus smell- oh well, I like the smell; to each his own.....

I’ve been using this brand for 14 years, used it all over the world (even Australia), for me, my husband, my babies and now teenagers. It is the only thing that protects our skin. And it doesn’t get into my daughters eyes like other sunscreens. My kids still complain about the thick white cream, but it’s worth it for the great protection!

Pros:- Very smooth, non-greasy consistency - I strongly prefer it to Badger in this respect- Rubs on quickly and easily- Highly rated on the Environmental Working Group site for safe baby sunscreenCons:- Expensive compared with other highly rated brands, such as Badger- Smells VERY strongly of citronella, which I somehow didn't expect when I bought it- I recently heard that a coworker's friend who is a chemical engineer is concerned about the titanium dioxide in this brand, and who recommends Badger instead as it doesn't contain any toxins at all.

This is one of the few products on the market that contains few harmful chemicals and actually works. This particular sunscreen contains a bug repellant as well, and as anyone who has tried to apply a sunscreen to a child knows, one less thing that you have to struggle to put on them is a good thing. We spent a week in a very mosquito infested beach area and it worked like a charm and kept my kids both sun burn and bite free.

I wanted to like this sunscreen as I love this company, but it was SOOO crazy thick, white and so sticky it would barely spread on my face, much less my body. Would be great for Halloween if you want to dress up as a ghost lol!

Really good stuff and goes a long way! It is expensive but a dime size really covers my face, neck and chest. It does sweat or wash off easily.

Have used this on my kids for about 9 summers now...works for bugs and sun without toxic stuff...safe for babies and doesn't run into their eyes and sting when they sweat or cry. As they got older and I needed to cover more skin surface, I switched to the basic bug and sunscreen products from the neck down, but still use this exclusively on their faces.

Have used this on my 8 yr old with sensitive skin since he was a baby. A little hard to apply, but worth the effort. Long lasting, and I feel great about using non-toxic sunscreen.

I was expecting it to be very greasy but I was pleasantly surprised, excellent product! Would buy again in the summer.
