Handy Secateurs for dog walk
Pretty easy to fold out and get used to, can see disadvantages if you have small hands as the handles are quite wide apart.I have kept clean and oil after a few uses, and that helps.I have been pleased generally with what I use them for which is cutting back brambles on a dog walk

Does its job well
I love these secateurs. I pop them in my pocket when I go on country walks with the dogs and can clear brambles from the footpaths that in the past would have stopped me walking certain paths. They fit neatly into my pocket and cut well. The only reason they didn't get five stars is that my ones have one handle that sticks when you fold it up and you have to use quite a force to get it to close.

Compact and easy to carry
I use these on my dog walks at this time of year to cut back brambles and thorny bushes that are over grown and encroaching into the paths. Easy to carry and unfold when needed.

A bad apple
Can't understand why so many glowing reviews for these. They have poor ergonomics, are of poor quality, and with limited functionality.Tried them out briefly; the handles are quite weirdly shaped, and do not sit well in the hand (they are too small if you have large/wide hands). The cutting blades are poor (the knife is terribly shoddy), and this just doesn't "cut it" as a handy multitool.I was really hopeful these would be good. I have a pair of Fiskars folding pocket secateurs (bought many years ago, but alas discontinued) which are very handy, useful, and robust.Prior to giving up on these completely, I instead offered them to my wife (who has small hands) as she would usually leap at the chance to have one of my *as new" cast offs (obviously in addition to her own treats). Within 5 mins she was handing them back; stating they were uncomfortable to use, had an odd handle shape (eg those poor ergonomics), a poor cutting action, and generally not fit for purpose. If you have fairly low expectations, and narrow hands with unusually long fingers (ideally a bit like the close encounters aliens) then these may fit the bill, and prove useful. Other than that, I think they're a definite pass.Returned for refund.Pros:Small, pocket sizedQuite lightweightNice tin to store them (or a pouch in another sale variant)Cons:Poor qualityPoor ergonomicsNot very durable (unproven by user)Not expected to last (unproven)

Clever idea, but need a re-design as they are difficult to hold
First off, it is a great idea. Many times I've wished I had some small secateurs with me, to cut back a bramble or small branch intruding onto a path when out walking. Especially the ones at eye level. Also handy to take a cutting when you are not expecting to.Unfortunately, the designer has tried too hard and included a couple of extra tools in the handle that are unnecessary. The fold out knife is just about ok, but the fold out saw is rather pointless. The inclusion of those extra tools appears to have informed the handle design and where there would normally be protrusions on secateurs to stop your finger sliding towards the cutting blades, there are cutaways to allow you to access these other tools in the handles. The design of the handles and the lack of protrusions means your hands slide down towards the secateurs' cutting blades, ruining the usability. If they redesigned the handles to address the above points, even if they had to remove the extra tools these could be a perfect tool. If the producer won't, hopefully someone else will design a competitor that addresses these failings soon.

Folds neatly and easy to carry in a pocket, but difficult to use one handed.
I bought these to carry on country walks to clear brambles etc. from narrow footpaths. They fold away neatly and are light and compact to carry, but study enough to cut small branches. The only drawback, as other reviewers have commented, is that they are not easy to use with one hand. When unfolded the handles curve outwards and when the blades are fully opened the handles are too wide apart for one handed use (holding them closer to the pivot tends to result in trapped fingers, in my experience at least!). They did do a great, two handed, job of clearing a forest of brambles blocking a footpath.

Great product which comes in a tin. Packaging needs to be better as tin is damaged.
Apart from the packaging this item is fabulous. The tin is dented which is such a shame

Natty folding secateurs
Arrived on time.Good, sturdy little secateurs for cutting holly for wreaths and brambles on walks etc. Have cut through thicker, tougher twigs a few times and they coped fine although not sure how long they would last for that use continually? If you have realistic expectations then you won’t be disappointed. As a previous reviewer said, maybe the handles are a little wide if you have small hands, which I have. Overall am very pleased with my purchase. Fold small enough to go in coat pocket. Happy with purchase.
