Rose Cumming: With an Introduction by Albert Hadley

Decent
Far too many black and white photographs of her work, which seem to fall flat as Cummings work always brings vivid jewel tones to my mind. I'm not generally in favour of colorising black & white photography, but in this case I feel it could've worked if done by a professional, especially since the colours are described in the text. However the colour reproductions of her textile patterns were gorgeous.

Great Resource
I gave this new book five stars, for quality, honesty, beauty, timeless appeal, and excellence overall. Any young or seasoned designer would love this, whether they knew of Miss Rose or did not. Young designers need to know that these "hat ladies" started the profession, long ago. Jeffrey Simpson is to be commended for an excellent production, evoking the glamour and excitement of the period in which Rose Cumming and her sisters lived and worked. Great gift for the holidays!

Rose was one of a kind - great style!
Even though I have lived with mostly Bauhaus furniture, I always appreciate Rose Cummings and try to add some of her style and color to every room in my house. It's a pleasure to turn the pages of this book.

informative book about a woman whose fabric designs I sooo enjoy! Rose Cumming has quite the Creative Mind
What an interesting, informative book about a woman whose fabric designs I sooo enjoy! Rose Cumming has quite the Creative Mind, an international following, great taste, and a keen eye for detail.

Nice book to have...
This book is a nice historical reference about a woman who was truly unique and ahead of her time. I was a little let down with the photos, some of them not good at all. There are other photos that are repeated a few times, also a let down. Rose must have been a real force to reckon with, but this book is a little lack-luster.
