This is perfect to have on hand just in case of emergency to make sure your pets can escape. The 1/2" rope is long enough for a 3rd story escape. 4 stars because there is no rigid bottom.

I live in a three-story house. The primary bedroom is on the top floor. I have an 80 pound dog, a 13 pound cat, and a 45 pound child. While we have an escape ladder for the adults, this is incredibly handy to have for the pets and our son. Thankfully, we’ve not had to use it, but we have practiced with it. I can tell you it will certainly hold our 80 lbs dog with some room to spare. I don’t know that my six year old could climb down the ladder safely, but we could definitely lower him down in this. It’s an excellent purchase for peace of mind. Hopefully you never need it, but it’s a real lifesaver if you do.

Seems to be made of sturdy nylon. Straps are 2 separate ones on top (where you latch the rope) w/ backpack type straps on the back. Pic on Amazon showed just one top strap.Bought a medium for my corgi mix. Too small for her to stand in, plenty of head room. Will have to return for a large.

I live in an upper level condo and some window exits are a far way down. Have a two story fire escape ladder, but I recently realized that I would no longer be able to carry my cats down since they are now full grown and weigh 12lbs each. I needed a bigger bag/carrier to get them down safety in case of an emergency. The bag is well made and the rope is plenty long enough. I tested it out to see if my two cats would fit and hold up inside the bag. The bag holds up fine with two 12lb adult cats in it. The only downside is that the opening is slightly small so it took a few seconds to get both of them in it....but overall provides some peace of mind knowing I can get them down safely too.

These really need something in the bottom and a finer mesh for the air holes. Good concept though. Execution could be improved upon. Hope I never need to use them.

This is better than expected. It’s not something I would use for any regularly occurring activity but it would work well for its intended purpose in an emergency or two. I have a slightly neurotic 60-pound black lab and was able to get her zipped up into it and pick it up to the point I’m confident I could get her over the balcony railing and lower her to the ground safely. She tolerated the test pretty well and didn’t seem to mind it as much as I thought she would.

Perfect item ! I feel more comfortable about being able to get my dog out if there was ever an issue that I would need to get out of my condo in a hurry . That was always my worry ! I can use my ladder ; but, how was I going to get my dog out ! I always thought I would wrap him in a sheet and lower him out first in hopes he would get out on the way down ! However now with this escape carrier he will be safe ! It’s good and strong and not too heavy to lift him out ! So glad I found this ! Thanks Amazon for having this company! Solved my problem !

Was happy to get this as I have cats and thought this could save their lives. Got the large size but a little concerned with the open side. Area has cross bars stiched to allow air and sight but think I will add some extra cross cloth bars to keep smaller pets from jumping out before and after reaching the ground. Includes nice thick rope and heavy duty locking clip. Hope it is never needed but having it at the window gives me extra peace.

Sturdy ropes, bag could be thicker and sturdier, holes are too big. My cat could squeeze through the holes in this and get out and lost. For a bigger cat or medium dog probably fine. I'm going to sew mesh inside of it so it is still breathable for living things and fortify the bag myself to make it stronger at the seams. great idea product...could be made better...hope the company decides to keep making these but also keeps working on build and design to create a better product. in the meantime, I'm handy and I can work with this and fix up the weak points myself to make this a better safer item.

Fits my heavy Olde English Bulldogge in this and it came with the safety rope, so very happy with that! I would say however that there is sadly no attachment on the bag for the safety rope to securely attach to. It would need to be attached to the handle straps. Overall happy though! Feel better knowing there is a further safety precaution on place for my fur baby for the worst case scenario

As a firefighter I recommend this device to lower your children or your pets down from a second story or 3rd story if you have time and the conditions are correct for this evacuation Practice a safe home evacuation plan

I bought this back in October after we had a fire scare in my apartment building. This afternoon we had another fire scare so I wrangled my cats into this bag to get them out of the apartment with me. While searching for my second cat, my first cat, who was already in the bag, nearly choked himself to death in a panic trying to get out through the large squares on the front of the bag. Luckily the fire ended up being a false alarm but now I am aware that I purchased this bag for nothing. This may work for a small child but the holes are WAY too large for small and medium sized pets.
