Quick and easy assembly - you just use a Phillips head screw-driver. Assembly took my wife eight minutes - I'm disabled. I bought the light to use beside my power recliner, and it is virtually perfect for this. I can easily reach the post-mounted touch controls, and easily maneuver the lamp hood where needed.There are four touch buttons in a diamond pattern at the perfect height on the post for one seated - an on/off button, a brighten button, a dimmer button, and a light color button. I'd call the tints white, blue and two hues of amber. The white, fully brightened, is the brightest setting, and is very bright indeed, for those times when you need it. There are four levels of brightness, nicely chosen. The top-of-the-diamond button brightens, the bottom button dims (to select among those four levels), the left button is on/off, right button chooses tint. Using these is easy and intuitive, allowing the user a wonderful mix of various level and ambiance settings.As long as it continues to work, this will be my favorite lamp ever. Time will tell. I read many unsatisfactory reviews about lamps of this type. I decided to take a chance and order this one, as Amazon policy provides easy returns. I will NOT be returning this lamp; I am most satisfied with its features and performance! The lamp is easy to assemble. I use it for doing needlework, and I have no problem seeing my stitches. Even needle threading is easy. Having a magnification feature is not necessary because of the strong light. The base is sturdy. The lamp head easily adjusts for working at a table. I have macular degeneration; however, this lamp allows me to still enjoy a favorite hobby.

When I noticed my 96 year old dad was sitting at his puzzle table to read his books, I asked why he didn’t sit in his recliner to read. Stupid question: 🙄 No light! I took a chance on this light after searching out many others and we’re so glad we did! It was easy to assemble, and it’s super easy for him to use, even with his stiff old fingers. No remote to lose. And the light is bright and exactly right for him! Having the temperature options for the type of light is an added bonus. I love that it’s heavy duty and well made. Not like the typical “cheap” we’ve come to expect from anywhere but the USA. I would order again and recommend it to anyone.

Got this light for putting puzzles together and it works fairly well. So why 4 stars? Well, the first one didn't turn on at all. Amazon immediately send a replacement and provided for free return of the original.The second light arrived quickly and while it does turn on and the brightness control does work, the color change light does not work at all. While I would like to have this feature, 1) because I paid for it and expected it, and 2) because it would be a nice feature if I used the light for something besides assembling puzzles, I decided just to keep it. Not worth the hassle of doing another return.The light is considerably more sturdy and heavier than previously purchased which were not as bright, but then it cost twice as much too. And the others have all functions working.

Love it, love it, love it! Got it to replace my ancient Verilux reading light, and it’s exactly what I had in mind. And a lot cheaper. Love the variability of the brightness and color warmth of the light!!!!! The touch control is right at my shoulder in my favorite recliner, where I do most of my reading, and the light can be directed just where I want it. Easy to assemble and seems to be nice and sturdy.

Bought this product for my 92 year old father with poor eyesight but loves to read. This lamp was perfect he is able to sit in his chair and read the newspaper (he had been reading it in front of the window to get the right light). If you are someone who does puzzles, needlework, etc. this lamp would be perfect. The different settings are nice as they are both bright and have a one which takes the glare out. Super easy to use as it is a touch on/off and to adjust light settings. He is very happy!Only snag was one of the screw holes was not threaded correctly. Fortunate handy son fixed it.I normally don’t review products but if you have someone struggling to read due to poor eyesight the lamp is for you!

I did read, and it does show in the details the height but in real life it is still somewhat short. It is an excellent lamp for lighting up an area you are sitting for reading, playing a game perhaps, but if you are looking to light up a room with it, that isn't this lamp. It is flexible half way down, so you can extend it fully up, but although that helps with the lighting a little, the trade off is seeing a bright glowing spot in your field of view and uncomfortable unless on lower dimness but that is the trade off.So basically, great reading lamp, puzzles, etc just not a light up a big area lamp. But this is not anything bad about company or lamp itself. It is what it says it is. And not unhappy, just have a big darker living room, and needed more.

I’m very happy with my new lamp. I wanted a floor lamp so it wouldn’t take up space on my desk. I’m a crafter and the desktop can get pretty crowded when I’m working on a project. The only complaint I have about this lamp is that I wish the cord was longer. I have an older house and outlets weren’t high on their priority list!I like that I can change the color and intensity of the light easily with the touch pad. I’m still experimenting with the perfect placement for it to avoid shadows. The base seems heavy enough to keep it from tipping over and the gooseneck part is easy to adjust.Assembly is always a challenge for me. I definitely think it would be easier if you had a second person to hold it up.
