ReelWorks Air-Hose-Reel Retractable Hand Crank Reel 3/8" Inch x 50' Feet 300 PSI / 20 BAR Heavy Duty Steel Construction Locking Spring Max (Hose Not Included)

I bought these two air hose reels (50' and 100') for extension hoses that were forever getting dumped on the garage floor They were simple to assemble, and simple to mount to plywood sheets that I can carry or hang from a peg. I also put 3' swivel pigtails on the air inlet to make them a little easier to gang. Since I'm old and they are a little heavy with the hose on them, I may put hooks on the plywood to hang them on a dolly when I move them around. The plywood I used is Baltic birch, and I put a couple coats of spar varnish on that after I took the picture.It has been a few days since I put these together, but as I recall, they both have all 3/8" fittings. It doesn't really matter. I've gotten a good laugh out of all the shocked reviews of competing products with 1/4" fittings. The pressure drop across a short quarter-inch fitting is totally miniscule compared to the drop along a 3/8" hose, even at reasonably high flow rates, that it makes no practical difference. And most prosumer air tools are 1/4" anyhow.Other issues: (1) This review is for the 50' reel, and I copied it from the 100' reel. The main photo for this one shows a flexible pigtail on the inlet INSTEAD OF the brass fitting on the other photos. The one I got has the brass fitting. (2) One of my reels came with a separate 3' pigtail in the box, the other with a 6' pigtail. One had an anti-kink spring in the package, the other didn't. One came with 10mm machine screws for wall mounting, the other with lag screws. (3) For some reason, the 50' reel is more expensive than the 100' reel--as far as I can tell, they are functionally equivalent except for the hardware issues I mentioned.

Does the job. Well built. Works great... especially love the spool stop. Not hard to install, would recommend attaching it to a stud (only needed two of the four holes).

No leak with the coupler and easy set up. It is well made. I have 25 feet Makita air hose to fit with the reel. There are plenty of room to spare. I was confuse with the product photo showing a length of hose connected to the unit. I thought it may included in the package. It does not. I took away one star otherwise it is a 5 star product. I would recommend it to any one who is frustrated dealing with the air hose kinks during winding up the air hose. This reel makes winding up a much easier task. It looks good and neat. Worth the bucks.

Got this because I was tired of coiling up a hose in a bucket. Mounted this to a piece of plywood with 3/8” bolts and t-nuts. The reel works great, doesn’t seem to leak any air.The only problem is that the hose can kink a little between where the hose attaches to the reel and where you bolt it to the reel. A newer hose was a little stiffer and worked a little better.One of the pictures on the product page shows the hose with a metal coil around the hose there to keep it from kinking. Mine didn’t come with one of those.

I am so glad that I purchased this hose reel. Very sturdy and has an excellent finish. Smooth operation and nicely compact.Perfect for 50 feet of 3/8 hose, but it will hold 75.
