This lotion is HEALING
First of all - let me tell you that I have had eczema (atopic dermatits) my entire life, as long as I can remember. I'm 27 years old. For my entire life I Have used the cetaphil cream that comes in the tub. Killer deal for 20oz tubs at costco. Its good mositurizer, but doesnt do anything to heal. This year, while having a perticularily HORRIBLE flare up (something in the air or something this year, I swear I havent had this bad of skin in 10+ years) I've been trying new moisturizers to try to give some relief after making the choice to get off topical steriods (ugh). I went all natural, tried Shea butter, coconut oil, cold pressed olive oil, infused with lavender essential oils... tried shea moisture chamomile & argan oil eczema therapy, hemp salve.... etc etc, nothing helped, and if anything made my skin worse. My trouble areas are my face, neck, wrists, forearms and inner elbows. I somehow just discovered this Restoraderm lotion (how did I not know of it sooner?!) and tried it. Duh. I've used Cetaphil products as long as I can remember, so I trust it and its worth a shot. Within 3 days I noticed an improvement. As of today i've gone through an entire bottle and am on bottle #2 and I would say I am 75% clearer. Obv its not a total healing... there is a reason why we eczema people have eczema, and its an internal battle of mine trying to find the root cause. But hey - 75% clearer, i will take that any day. YES like everyone else states it BURNS applying if you have open skin and for me it got worse the first day or 2 before It started getting better. For Kids i can understand not being able to use it. But if you can get it on them kiddos and immediately blow on their hot spots to cool the burning... it passes after just a few minutes. Like 2 or 3 mins and it doesnt burn anymore. If they are full body I can see not being able to use it. If your an adult, you just gotta get over the burn, its temporary... you can do it. Those are my opinions, overall i am very satisfied with this product and am setting myself up for re-order. It might be a little more spendy but totally worth it. If i could figure out how to upload a picture, I would post a before/after shot.

Good product
I read the other reviews and I just want to say they're right. It's a good product. I bought it for a minor irritation of my hand and the moisturizer cleared up my skin in no time. It's expensive, yes, but it works.

Great for African American Babies with Eczema!
I have been using this lotion along with the body wash on my baby boy since he was an infant. He is now 18 months old, and we still use it daily. My baby had eczema on his face and some on his body in the early months. I tried other moisturizers: Eucerin, Aquaphor which is totally greasy and made it worse, and Aveeno Baby Eczema Cream. The Restoraderm body wash and lotion were recommended by my pediatric dermatologist. We use both daily. The lotion is very rich and moisturizing without being too greasy. It works well with the body wash. The body wash is gentle with low foam and little smell.Since I use both the wash and the lotion, I cannot say definitively that this lotion eliminated my son's eczema alone. I would not say it is a 'cure' for eczema, but it definitely improves the condition of the skin for faster healing. I do recommend using both in tandem. It seems that my son's skin began to look healthier over time and today he rarely has any eczema outbreaks. His skin is nice and smooth now, especially on his cheeks. I am so glad we found this solution for us because I did not want to use steroidal creams on a daily basis. The prescription cream that we used sparingly and rarely was desonide. This lotion and body wash really made a difference and prevented us from having to rely solely on a steroid cream. The lotion and wash are sometimes hard to find in stores, and are very expensive when you do find them. If you use it on a regular basis and don't have time to run around town searching for them, I recommend Amazon's subscribe and save feature. Amazon's price is the lowest I have found. If you are in a pinch, the Aveeno Baby Eczema Cream is a good alternative, but is a tad lighter although I do like the Aveeno on the face.As another reviewer noted, please test this product and any other product on your baby before slathering it all over to ensure there is no allergic reaction to the product. There is always the potential for the rare occurrence of an allergic reaction. I hope that this product works for the vast majority of babies/people. It definitely works for us!
