Okay this is a complete full review. I have had a keen ear my whole life with instrumentation and stereo systems. I know what is bad and what is good not just based on the brand. I would be what you call an audiophile.I replaced my logitech z506's with this system. There was nothing really wrong with them. They were just "boring." Any real audiophile whose had them knows what i mean. Its not that they were too quiet or the sound quality was bad. They just needed a bit of color to the sound. Edgier highs and deeper lows. Everything was dull. Thats why i needed a change. I bought these Bose speakers because I have a majority of Bose products at home and in my car. They are all exceptionally great. When you want epic sound quality, you need to pay the price. When I bought these for $244 dollars, I really didn't think that was that bad. Knowing how Bose rocks it, I felt like I was getting a deal. When I opened the small speakers up out of the package, I was very surprised at how small they were. They looked so much bigger in videos and online. They are seriously palm sized. I was getting a little worried that they wouldn't put out the volume I needed. The subwoofer system weighed a ton. It is actually much longer than I thought it was going to be. Still incredible quality. When I was hooking the small satellites up to the subwoofer, it has a red and white input. Thats all fine and dandy. The speakers though didn't have any color on their inputs though. I looked all over each one for an R or L. I couldn't find anything. I then just plugged each one in randomly. I then tried it out with mid bass. These speakers Kick Ass. There is no other word to describe them. They triple the volume of my z506's volume. The bass is intoxicating. It is so rich and deep. You somehow feel like you are being spoiled when you listen to this system because everything comes out like you wouldn't believe. Do not underestimate the power of these speakers. They will blow you to kingdom come. I almost forgot the volume remote thing. I love it. I seriously love it. The volume change can be so precise and it is built so beautifully. My favorite part is that to mute the system, you only need to tap the top of it. No buttons needed. That being said I would have liked to see it wireless. I dont see a problem with asking that. I would also like the volume changer marked with a white line on the side. Other than that, its a work of art.Overall, look no further.

Satisfied Belleville Music Lover
When my new Bose Companion Series II Multimedia Speaker System arrived, there was a problem with one of the speakers. I phoned Bose technical support and the tech and I ran test and found I needed to send the system in for repair. I returned it the week before Christmas and was told it may be 2 to 3 weeks before it would be returned to me. I received it back within a week. When I received it, it had the wrong control pod. But once again, Bose came through and FedEx'd the correct part to me the very next day. Bose has an excellent technical team and the repair was made very quickly.Although, I purchased the system through a 3rd party and not directly from a Bose store or outlet, Bose stood behind their product. They were not concerned with where I purchased the unit, but wanted to make sure that I was satisified. Thumbs up to Bose and their customer service.

Don't even bother
Never would buy again. Thought maybe it took a while to tweak the sound but the sub woofer is complete garbage. If you like Metal is distorts really bad anything with bass don't even bother. My main regret is I didn't take the time to return this. I waited for longer than 30 days I'm stuck with a sub that I can't crank up. Don't make the same mistake I did do not buy this product for the name.

Disappointed
After 3 years of owning the Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1's I decided to try the BOSE, as I was Sure the quality and sound would be comparable to the Klipsch...NOT EVEN CLOSE Now they are well built but if you want a Sub that KICKS and Studio Quality Sound(loud AND Clear), go with the Klipsch...Did I mention 1/2 the cost also?

Brilliant.
I've wanted this set for years, since I first saw a demo in a Bose store. When I stood in front of it I though "what a perfect sound". Then a sales associate approached and turned up the volume from what I suspect had been the minimum. BOOM. I had a relatively used 5.1 system at home and it sounded nothing close to that. How can a sound so powerful come from such small speakers? And only two of them!I installed it yesterday and demo it to my family, trying to get my parents to make up their mind on buying a proper CineMate set for the living room. It wowed them. My little brother asked how was that possible, from such small speakers. I'm an engineer and I've always wondered the same thing with awe for this company. "Black magic", I answered.

Nothing spectacular about these besides their looks and build quality
1 star - looks1 star - build quality1 of 3 stars - sound qualityI MAY BE WRONG and it may be a faulty set I received, but these speakers lack mids BADLY. I have had Yamaha 5.1 set that had a very nice sound quality, then jumped to Sonos Play 5 and a pair of Play 1s all of which are undoubtedly superior to Bose Companion 3. Moreover, my friend's Klipsch ProMedia that costs only $140 sounds drastically better than Companion 3. I went for Bose since these take tiny space on your desk and look nice promising a "great sound", but this last thing despite of the rave reviews is just not par to even a $50 2.1 set... My LED TV's built-in speakers deliver more balanced and natural sound...After testing these for about 70-80 minutes I just had to give up and request a return from the seller.I HOPE that the lack of mids is just my set's problem but I will not risk reordering these and will just go with Klipsch ProMedia that do not look as nice, take more desk space BUT definitely sound better.

Mind Blowing
Bose, not much more to say there. If u want a greater listening experience get the Companion 5, it's a couple hundred dollars more but gives wall vibrating, mind blowing sounds, you'll be amazed..
