Noticeable Horsepower Boost 🐎🐎🐎
Easy to install, only took a few tools and about 30min. Noticeable horsepower boost and great sound. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great performance and reliability for the price!
First off, I want to start off by saying that I pursued the switch to K&N Filters when my local dealer informed me that air filters would be 175$ each. I always try to change my air filters when I get an oil change, but at that price I would never be able to afford it.I ordered my kit on Thursday and received it on Saturday. Install took a friend and I about 1.5 hours, but we took our time and kind of had to figure out how to disassemble the well assembled MINI under-hood. The provided K&N instructions were more than adequate, but if you are new under the hood there are plenty of reliable YouTube videos that can further walk you through certain areas of the install.I took a db reading of my car sitting idle in sport mode. 75db prior to K&N, 86db after. The reviews stating that you can finally hear the turbo are very much true and I love adding the sporty feeling to the MINI. Mind you, the turbo sounds can really only be heard when in Sport mode due to turbo being activated. In cabin noise level was not affected and still provides a comfortable ride. You will be able to feel the 7-9hp gain and throttle response as soon as you take it for your first drive. Taking turns is even more of a breeze then before.I added a before and after picture to provide some further looks at the finished product (sorry for the dust).Tools needed for the install: 8-10mm sockets, T-20 bit, exacto-knife (or a way to cut the rubber with metal trim) and a standard screwdriver. There is one bolt that if using a ratchet, will need about a 6" extension, but can be easily bypassed if using a screwdriver socket handle.Feel free to ask any questions, would be happy to help anyone looking at making this switch. It's worth it!

Great CAI with simple install, but make sure to buy a can of MAF cleaner as well
[INSTALL] - Nice and simple. Good install instructions included. There is plenty of the weatherstripping to mount it as instructed, although cutting the weatherstripping can take some tin snips because it does have a metal piece in the clamping side. Solid cold air box of thick metal with a nice crinkle black finish.[SOUND & PERFORMANCE] - There is a noticeable sucking noise now, and the turbo wastegate is easily audible. Throttle response is slightly improved. I am not a huge fan of the extra noise, but I can live with it.[NOTES) - Buy a can of Mass Air Sensor Cleaner. The K&N filter is slightly over-oiled, and it can foul your sensor and kick a CEL. A quick cleaning of the MAF with the right cleaner (follow instructions exactly and do not touch the MAF sensor plate/wires themselves), solved the issue, and then I just reset the CEL through an OBDII scanner. No issues since then

Turbo go whoosh
First great in 2015 Mini Cooper S. However hooking up the aluminum tube to the plastic hose was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be, as it was flanged at one end which made the tubing hard to go over the pipe. But it's possible! The filter itself feels a little over-oiled, but not terribly so.Altogether was an easy (30 minute) install for a car dummy like me. Just make sure you have a set of sockets and torx/allen at different sizes. Would have been nice if the instructions listed the sockets required: 7mm, 8mm, 10mm... (and maybe 14 or 15mm socket to remove the battery cover bolt). Torx: T20 and I think a T10 or T15Turbo whoosh sounds are

Whistles like a train
Pretty easy install, though we did have to get a longer screw at one point to replace the stock one that was too short with the heat shield addition. Wrapping the rubber was a pain but it went as directed. Directions were perfect though. Sounds great and I can feel a little extra kick

K&N quality has diminished
Large welding boogers on inside of pipe and sharp edges. Not the quality that they used to be.

A welcome addition
This was a welcome addition to the Coop S. Immediately noticed a bump in the 3500+ rpm range as well as some extra sound under the hood. At highway cruising speeds, fuel economy improves, but in town, lost a little mpg. Easy to install when you follow the well written instructions. Time will tell if there will be a fuel savings payback, but certainly there is an immediate payoff in the fun department!

BRING ON THE ANGRY SQUIRRELS!!
Perfect fit in my 2019 Mini Cooper S 4-door. Install took me about 30 minutes. I don't really notice any power improvements - wasn't expecting it to. I bought it purely for the induction noise. The factory airbox kills all the intake noise and especially the turbo blow-off through the factory diverter valve. With this CAI kit, In Sport + mode, I now can hear it very clearly. Every time I take my foot off the gas, it sounds like the engine has poked a nest full of angry squirrels! Couple that with the already excellent exhaust system and you have a fun, buzzy little car to rip around on the backroads.
