This Should do the Job Quite Nicely
I so look forward to loving this little thing. I just did a test run this morning using only the double-bowl tray, so it wasn’t a large amount of food. I think I let it run about fifteen minutes before checking on it. Wow. That food was hot! It was so hot I had to let it cool a few minutes. But it sure seems like this will be handy for work.I decided on this particular brand/model because:1. The two dishes have plastic covers. I can leave the heating unit at work, pack lunch at home and carry itIn separately from the heating unit. I don’t have to use or wash more dishes than necessary.2. It has the highest wattage of all I looked at. It should heat faster and perhaps last longer than others.I really like that it is a neutral color. It doesn’t look like a child's toy. Since these things are surprisingly small, having a more grown-up look to it is appreciated. The handle is sort of a pleather, meaning it shouldn’t cut into my fingers like a hard plastic might. The locks seems sturdy enough. At least I hope they are sturdy. I’m sure it’ll steam well enough if the latch does break, though.A few things to note:1. The cord is very short. You’ll need to be right by an outlet or extension cord. It also is not polarized.2. The small plastic cup provided for water is inadequate. It holds at most, 50ml of water. In the Q&A sectionhere - but nowhere in the instruction pamphlet - the company spokesperson states 150-200ml(approximately half cup in the U.S.) of water is required. So, just be aware of that. The instructions say itwill shut off if the receptacle runs out of water.3. I wonder if this will develop a mildew issue if inside the unit isn’t dried after each use.I just steamed a couple eggs (in the shells) in this. I cooked one for 10 minutes and another for 15. 10 was too short; I don’t have a proper egg cup, so it was too messy to eat the entire egg. 15 was either a minute too long or too short, depending on how you like your eggs. It was just a smidge away from totally hard cooked. But it was awesome and warm. Totally doable for a warm egg at work. And pro tip, the stem vents from the corner of the lid. I burned myself because I wasn’t paying attention.I’ll update if necessary, but so far, I’m happy with this purchase.

It gets the job done!
I got this for my hubby so he could have hot home cooked meals on the road instead of always having to stop for fast food. He has a power strip in his truck to be able to recharge his power tools on the road so the fact that this doesn’t have a regular car plug is okay in his case.We both like that is used steam heat to warm the food!I put his enchiladas in the bottom part and he did say that his enchiladas collected a lot of water around them getting them kinda soggy, so I would make sure that whatever you put in the bottom it will be okay with extra liquid, like maybe cooking rice in the bottom, or steaming veggies. Anyways, it starts boiling the water instantly! We are very impressed even tho he’s only used it for food once but I tested it without food before I packed it for him.We like that it has two sections so he can have more food with him, but we do wish the food containers were made deeper. I wouldn’t recommend housing soup in it bc the lids are not air tight, and you have to remove those lids and snap the sections back into place before you heat your food.

Perfect for cooking for one. I’m very pleased!
I just received my lunchbox today and I was excited to try the rice cooking features. I ended up spending half the day experimenting with different recipes that included noodles, rice, steamed vegetables and even a chicken teriyaki from a state of raw. So far everything I tried came out perfectly. The steamed vegetables were perfectly done without being soggy, the noodles cooked just right and so did the rice. The only down side I experienced was a little chip in the plastic lid of the container when I received it but it wasn't bad enough to send it back. I am looking forward to trying more recipes and I can see myself using this at school where I teach. A freshly cooked lunch is a good thing when there is not a lot of time. Even cooking from raw didn’t take more than 25 min as long as the meat was sliced. The basmati rice cooked in the same amount of time and came out lovely! If I were just reheating, it would take even less time. I am a very happy customer. Since I cook for one at home, I can see myself using this daily so I don’t make too much food. It is perfectly portioned for one! I hope they can send out another lid though. I will ask.
