Looks smart, runs great.
I have owned this monster mower for a few months now, here's what you need to know.It is not lightweight, nor is it heavy, is somewhere in the middle, think Goldilocks eating baby bears porridge, it's just right. It looks cool, wait why should you care about that?! There's really no reason you need this information unless you are planning on shooting a music video and needed to KNOW the mower you are buying is photogenic.I mow 4 acres every week, in an ideal world those aforementioned acres would be flat, but alas that is not the case, think a 50/50 split of hills and flat area. This monster never fails to climb the hills with ease.Hey! You are still reading, great! Let us talk power, the given name of this mower is PowerSmart DB8621S. After getting to know the PS mower I have changed its name for a couple of reasons. 1. Saying "I'm going to mow the lawn with the PowerSmart" Is not nearly as fun as saying "I'm going to take the monster for a lawn walk"2. Calling my lawnmower "The Monster" makes me feel like mowing the lawn is more metal than mundane.3. I am totally happy with this mower, it starts up without much effort, it runs smooth, with a great deal of power and most importantly it gets the job done in style.

Self-propelled only lasted one season, get horrible chest pains when holding onto it.
Update: The self-propelled mechanism died after only one season. It no longer pulls itself as of this spring, but I took the gears off so it would free-wheel and it cuts grass just fine. It is no longer self-propelled, probably Chinese cheap mechanism.Update: 6-9-20I get horrible chest pains when holding onto this mower when it is running. I didn't have angina or heart problem before now, but maybe this mower is connecting to a satellite or cell tower. The frequency it is emitting is strong according to my Amazon GQ 380 meter and this mower is really zapping me with EMF and electric field.I mowed nearly 1/4 acre with this mower which started on the first pull. I had tall grass as tall as weeds and weeds too & this mower ran over all of it. In the really thick stuff that is overgrown you might release the drive and let it stop and catch up. It died out several times because the weeds and grass were too thick, so maybe take a half cut or part of the row in tall grass and let it catch up. It's just the right walking speed for me, not too fast but moves right along. If an old 68 year old diabetic with arthritis can use this then probably so can you. It's powerful and smooth running. I'll never use a push mower again! When this baby dies I'll either fix it or buy another one of these.July 6, 2021I finally bought another brand of self-propelled mower and will retire this one and maybe harvest the motor for a go kart.

Smokes A LOT!
This is a rear wheel self propelled lawn mower and it's difficult to navigate when trying to make turns. It also smokes a lot!!! The first day I used it, it smoked so much I had to turn it off. I wish the mower I had was available. I would not have bought this one.

broke after a single use
I bought this self propelled lawn mower late in the season when I moved to a new house with a large yard. When I used it the first time it was hard to start the engine, it seemed to use a lot of gasoline, and every once in a while a brief cloud of smoke would come out of the exhaust. I used it approximately an hour the first time cutting a 7,000 square foot flat normal suburban lawn. I used it again about two weeks later. On the second use for no apparent reason I could figure the self propelled feature stopped working after ten minutes. I finished cutting the lawn without the self-propelled feature and then returned the lawn mower for a refund. Incidentally on the return I had to wash out the gasoline tank real clean or Federal Express wouldn't take the package. They refused the package the first time I brought it in because they said it smelled of gasoline. The second time I lied and said it had never been used.

Junk
This item is a joke. When I started to repair my 15 year old Poulan too often decided just time for new. Fed -Ex delivered it blocking the stairway to the upstairs apartments just to make sure I saw it. ( Building a house that still neeeds grass cut ). Standing on edge just for info. Took it to house started to unpack it , only packing is one small piece of strofoam and noticed a small broken piece of plastic down in the box. Not a good sign. Where does it go ? Found that the lever that adjusts height and locks into various postions is secured by plastic spacers. That it lowest spacer is broken off. Carton was not damaged but maybe some rough handling ? Obviously a design issue. Before you consider buying this take a real close look at the wheels. Something off a hot wheels for kids. Lacks any real tread and is not going to provide any traction going anywhere on grass that is not level. Self propelled that you are going to have to push. Best part try online warranty registration . For me I get a blank screen. Ask for service centers and it refers you to parts of which there are very , very few. This item is also non returnable as per Amazon. So if you want to waste your money with no recourse this is the Mower for you. Should no be on site in my opinion.

PowerSmart is an Excellent Lawn Mower!
Received it fast...took my time reading the manual. Made sure the assembly was correct...which was rather easy...added the required oil...added gas and pulled the lever and it started up beautifully!. It's powerful...very strong pull...but, as you get used to it, it gets easier...the lawn looks great...I would recommend this lawn mower to anyone who needs one. Glad I made this choice.

Love the mower
Great mower.Pros: self-propelled feature helps get job done faster and great for mowing uphill; mulched leaves helps clean yard and easy bag removal; starts with easy pull (so far) and no priming.Cons: without self-propelled feature engaged, a little heavier to guide than other mowers I've used in the past; directions booklet awful--positioning lower handles critical for rest of assembly and not clear in tiny diagram photos--assembly took longer than it should have
