AWESOME WORKOUT
These videos are awesome. I am capable of doing these workouts with hand weights and things from home. And I feel stronger along with better posture.

Split sessions, Cathe Friedrich style
There are 2 30- minute workouts on this DVD, as well as bonus few extra minutes to add for each of the 2 workouts (upper/ lower body), an extended stretch and a core bonus. I should have understood that " perfect 30" refers to the workouts' length... As I did not, the format was a bit surprising and disappointing at first, as I am used to her routines to be exhausting also due to their duration and usually full- body parts exercises ( that is to say : upper/ lower not kept separate but worked simultaneously). Here, upper and lower are kept separate (the unavoidable pushups being the exception). I do like this DVD, but will need to use very heavy weights to get a sense of hard- earned accomplishment with this routine (the cardio factor not being prominent here). The core bonus offers new, different moves, but actually felt more like a stretch to me! The extended stretch is not that extended, and the overall feel for this Perfect Pump is " business as usual": Move on from one exercise to the next quickly " all right?" and pretty much effortlessly when you look at Cathe and faithful exercisers Jay and Brenda. However, as always, you may count on professionalism, good cues, and effectiveness. The moves are simple to follow, allowing for focus on form, which is great when lifting heavy --- that's the way I am going to use this DVD.You do need therefore a bunch of equipment if you don't have a home gym! I either need to buy more dumbells or work with my heavy plates...It's not always practical nor is it best for form. Still! Good DVD, but " expensive " and professional--- true C. Friedrich---- fitness doesn't come for free and you must focus and commit.

Really Good Video
I have several of Cathe's video's, this one is really good, I use the Premix for bonus options for upper and lower body to add a few more minutes to the workouts and really heavy up. Some of her video's she talks too much and it's annoying after you've heard the same thing a dozen times.

Make sure you have heavy weights for this
These are pretty tough workouts. I do both when I do it. I have to get some weights from my son workout room because she goes up to 40lb weights. You will see more muscle definition for sure if you do this regularly. It obviously gets easier the more you do it as well. Highly recommend!

Great Body pump style workout
I tried the video out this morning. This is also a great workout for a man even though the video participants are all women. The routines are easy to follow. Furthermore, the weight selections are variable and up to the individuals. Felt great and pumped after the workout

Excellent workouts
I like the short timeframe of each segment - 30 min is all I can give in lifting weights & toning! Excellent instructor with safety in mind & alternatives in certain moves!

Great heavy weight workout!
I'm a huge fan of Cathe and have almost all her DVDs so this purchase was a no-brainer. Both the Upper and Lower Perfect Pump routines are geared towards those who want to incorporate heavy weights in their workouts and they deliver! They are short and to the point so they're fantastic for anyone who has limited time to exercise. I enjoyed the lower body section much better than the upper, though, as it was more comprehensive (in my view). Cathe hits the legs with a variety of squats, static lunges, deadlifts, calf raises, etc. and I was able to match her weights on every exercise. I paid the price the next day (ow!) but I find a lot of her leg workouts to be too long - this was ideal. The upper is good as well but since are a lot more muscle groups in the back, arms, chest and shoulders thirty minutes wasn't enough for me. Cathe targets the back with pullovers and one arm rows, the chest with bench presses, flies and push-ups, the biceps with an assortment of bicep curls, the triceps with kickbacks, dips and overhead extensions, and the shoulders with lateral raises and overhead presses. I didn't feel as though my shoulders were adequately worked, however. She packs a lot into a half hour but I personally think her "Ramped up Upper Body" is much more comprehensive and it's only about ten minutes longer if you don't count the cooldown at the end. That said, I don't regret purchasing this DVD at all and it will be great to use on days where you don't have a lot of time on your hands. The DVD includes a ton of pre-mixes along with a core bonus and extended stretch so it's well worth the price.
