SmallRig Camera Cage only for Sony A6000 A6300 ILCE-6000 ILCE-6300 NEX7, A6000 Cage with 1/4" 3/8" Mounting Points and Built-in Cold Shoe - 1661

First off, I love SmallRig. They have the best prices on camera rig accessories and are still able to maintain incredible quality and are constantly refining and improving their product line. I have purchased many of their other rig accessories as I expand my set-up and each is incredibly well made and suited to it's purpose. I bought this camera cage for my A6300 and it fits perfectly and allow for mic, handle and should mount to be attached with many options for changing positioning due to the many attachment screw holes. My only small grip is that with a single attachment point for the camera to the cage, the cage can move right or left a bit if not screwed in very tightly. This is more the fault of all camera designs. I don't know who came up with the "one screw" concept for camera mounts but it probably could have been thought out better. I came up with a solution which is to go to your local hardware store and get some short headless hex screws and you can lightly dip the tip in some shoe goo so it doesn't scratch your camera and then screw them through the cage until they are in contact with the camera. If you do this on both sides it will keep the camera from possibly moving a bit in the cage. Perhaps SmallRig could make these screws as they take consumer ideas and turn them into products -- another great aspect of the company. Look forward to their future innovations in cinema rig equipment.

I wish I had kept the camera that goes with this cage. Amazing fit! Feels very solid and protective.

This might be the start of something beautiful. This cage fit perfectly on my Sony A6000. It’s well made and feels durable. It’s easy to put together and easy to hold as well. Looks amazing on my camera. It’s a perfect product worth the money.

OMG this thing is genius!First it's gorgeous and uniquely looking.Heavy duty-- it does add some weight to an already lightweight camera a6300 but so worth the peace of mind it addsFits great on my tripodPeople constantly stop me to ask what it is bc it looks great on the cameraConWish they made it to protect the back part of the camera more. Maybe they make a full cage and I don't know it, but the one I got for my a6300 didn't offer any protection for the backside view screenSometimes the screw on the bottom becomes loose. Maybe im not tightening it up well enough but it is noticeable before it falls off/ gives you ample warning time to tighten. I just now carry a coin in my camera bag to tighten when I need toStill love it... worth every dollar 10x over.

Great value

Solid piece of equipment for my camera and for an amazing price. I just expected it to feel a little more secure. The attachment price seems to depend solely on the tripod socket (hole under the camera). While it is secure in place, there is still a bit of movement from the camera rotating in the screw. All in all, happy with the purchase. I might ass something around the camera body to hold it in place better.

Currently i have my sony nex 5n inside of this cage, it actually fits kinda nicely.for some it may be uncomfortable.The NEX 5n isnt made for this cage and it doesnt have an option for a cage like the NEX 7.so keep in mind if you grab this its not fully made for the 5N or other versions, but it will fit.the battery compartment doesnt fully open form the bottom so swapping out batteries might be a pain if youre in a hurry to change.For me it works great. i have no issue so far with this product.
