Heath/Zenith SL-5610-BZ Entryway Motion-Sensing Security Light, Bronze

When we bought our house, this light was installed on the side by the garage access door. The motion sensor had gone out, so I needed to replace it. I decided to replace it with the same exact unit, which is what I purchased here. Installation was a breeze, and the new unit works well. The frosted white globe still lights up the area with a bright bulb in it, without diffusing the light too much. Plenty bright with a 75w equivalent LED bulb in it for the area I am illuminating. The motion detection works well, but do note its not quite as wide of a range as some other units. Design is simplistic but looks nice. Overall, really happy with this unit. If it were to stop working tomorrow I’d come back here and order another one.

Had to replace the old one that was exactly the same but there for 20 years. So I would have to say it's a pretty nice unit motion seems to work great.

I initially expected these would be cheesy plastic junk, but they're actually quite nice looking and well made with a surprising number of features for the price. I especially like that the sensor cap swivels to point to either side as well as directly in front, making it quite flexible in case the approach to your doorway is from the side rather than the front. Simple, unobtrusive modern styling fits nicely with many home styles since, say, about the 1940's. I'd definitely buy these again.

I have about 6 different Heath Zenith light fixtures on the building I manage. This is the first motion/light sensitive fixture I bought to replace the older dusk to dawn, non motion sensitive they still sell. I really like the function and the adjustable sensor field. It is a good feature and the instructions are well written and quite helpful in setting up and testing and explaining the function of the motion sensor field, which is less sensitive in direct approaches, works better "across the field" helpful information.It mounts a bit lower than their average Dusk to Dawn fixture and has a glass shade as opposed to the plastic shades which discolor and shatter after a few years. I have never been able to locate replacement shades, so I have to buy an entire new fixture, which is a drag. The new glass fixtures hopefully will not discolor, but I don't imagine they are tempered glass for rough handling or the heat that an incandescent bulb will put out on a long burn, but the whole point is that these lights only stay on when needed.You can also fit them with a small CFL bulb if you like. I don't know how allot of short burns affect CFL's. I have 6 fixtures to replace from the older non motion sensitive types, but due to cost will wait for the shades to break.I really like them and hope they hold up well. They apparently come with a two year warranty, and with Amazon, hopefully that is supported. I do wish they would come down in price at least 20%. As we are real paying a premium for a simple technology, such is life. Over all a great investment and pleasant modern low key appearance. I'd give it 5 stars if it was more affordable and mounted in the same vertical height as their other fixtures. I spent 20 minutes modifying a mount so it fit the same shingle bay.Would likely not be easy for someone not "handy".

A worker recently broke the glass bulb cover on our previous patio light, and given that we live in an HOA (home owners association), we had to replace it with something as close to identical as possible. This light is just a bit larger, but looks exactly the same. Inaddition, this light includes a really good implementation of motion detection. The sensor is unobtrusive, but easy to aim exactly where needed, not just left to right but also up to down. It only activates at night, leaving the light on either 1, 5 or 10 minutes whenever motion is detected.This is exactly what we wanted, as we recently installed a new patio door, and reversed the side that moves, in order to better match our furniture placement. However, that made it harder to reach the outdoor light switch, which is now on the wrong side of the door. Fortunately, with the motion detection, that doesn't matter. As soon as we step out the door, the light goes on. No need to ever touch the light switch.Definitely recommended.

Worked OK for about 30 days. Then it's intermittent operation when detecting motion. Sometimes it works so-so. It may work when a person walks up. But other times it won't work when my car drives into carport.

I have used this light on my back porch and it has worked fine. I would buy it again.

When we moved to our house they had one of these automatic motion lights in the mudroom and it has CHANGED OUR LIFE! When that one died we lived without it for a while and it was awful, after getting this one and loving it we are adding more and more motion lights to our house. I know it doesn’t seem like much but it is life changing!

Product is fine, As to delivery - totally unreliable. Furthermore, since my purchase was made on Amazon.ca, why did I need pay a Customs fee of $20 on delivery?

Order this light and it was just not up to the quality we wanted and colour wasn't right. Notified seller we wanted to return. Return was ok'd but I was advised that I would be charged a $10.72 return label fee and would be deducted from my refund (or I could keep and they would give a 15% discount). Not happy; in addition, item return goes by UPS to USA (return can be made to Ontario but I would have to pay for shipping). I would not order from this seller again.
