Worth ever penny
I made the mistake of buying a lesser, cheaper costing air intake setup (Spectre) for my '06 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. While it was much cheaper, the ease of installation and the products actual quality was vastly inferior to this K&N 77-1533KP. Within a few weeks, the rubber seals holding the filter on started deteriorating, the hose clamps cracked (causing me to replace them three times in about 5 months). The final straw that made me get rid of the cheap model was when the cheap metallic tubing began to crack near my throttle body where the tube was bent to mate up with the engine. The manufacturer states it uses only the best aluminum available for their CAI kits but it honestly looks more like an injection molded plastic with a shiny coating than aluminum. It even sounds like plastic when I tossed it in the trash ... anyways.Lesson learned for going cheap! This time around bought the K&N CAI kit but was hesitant because it is literally 6 times the price of the last one I bought (7 times, if purchased elsewhere). As soon as I took it out of the box, the differences were obviously noticeable. The quality of everything from the filter, the tubing and even the bolts used for installation are much better. Now, I'm not going to make unverified claims of horsepower or miles-per-gallon as I have not had my truck dyno'd but I can say this. 1) The idle sound of my truck has improved dramatically. I have an aftermarket 6.1L Hemi cam with JBL Headers and Flowmaster Super-40 true-dual X-pipe exhaust setup. I didn't think the idle sound could get better but it did. Acceleration sounds amazing now. I've seen claims that people say they can hear a sucking sound but honestly, I've tried to hear it and cannot. My truck is by no means too loud to hear it either. I'm not one of those people who think a truck should make people deaf when passing by but a Hemi should sound like a Hemi! 2) Acceleration is more responsive and the engine reacts much better than stock. Mid-range accel (around 40-80mph) is the biggest difference in my opinion. 3) I've noticed a slight pickup when climbing hills, especially with a load or trailer attached. Cruise Control does not up/downshift as much anymore in hilly areas either. I've attempted to judge the gas mileage difference using the built in computer on my truck but honestly it is next to impossible to get ideal and exact situations without using a Dyno in a windless enviroment.Note: Keep your factory air intake just incase you get another vehicle your K&N fits down the line. Save you some money! At the very least you could resell it and it should still be in great condition. Mine is almost new, including the original filter (properly cared for), nearly 2 years later.Last week I purchased my second K&N CAI kit for my other car. Once again as with our truck, a definite difference in idle and acceleration sound. My exhaust is still stock on this vehicle, much quieter than my truck and yet again, I cannot notice the "sucking sound" people claim to hear. All air intakes make a sound when under high RPM's (obviously, more air is going in and quicker). Also, Amazon's "Does it fit my vehicle?" database shows this does not fit a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, Quadcab 5.7L SLT 4x4, when in fact it is the exact model recommend according to K&N's website. It installed perfectly in my truck. It's also much cheaper at Amazon.com (by about $75) than it was at any other website I could find.

More power, deep thoaty sound
Was fairly easy to install, even for an old man like me. Some aspects where difficult for numb, arthritic fingers. Got it done myself. Love, absolutely love the extra milage and performance. Noticably better performance on my Dodge than the Toyota I installed one on years ago.

Impressive
My son suggested I buy this for my 2005 Ram Daytona and am I glad I finally did. The engine runs smoother, looks so much better under the hood, gas mileage is better and the sound is so impressive....brings the biggest smile to my face!!! Wish I would have bought it years ago!!!

Proven Performance and Economy
This kit is good for ~21 crank horsepower on a 2008 WRX (based on K&N's claims and a simple conversion to crank power). You're going to see instant throttle response improvement and a noticeable increase in power (I now can't imagine living without cold air intake). K&N is the premier choice for COI. I've also installed K&N COI systems on my family's Hemi Ram (awesome power increase and sound improvement - with freeway fuel economy increase from ~11.5MPG-~15.5MPG with Flowmaster catback duals) and a Nissan Titan and been really impressed. What's most impressive with the K&N is the improvement you'll realize in fuel economy. My WRX stickers with 22-25 city/highway MPG but now I can see 30MPG at well over 70MPH. This means that a K&N system will literally pay for itself in fuel savings and foregone paper filter replacement costs (every 15,000 miles). This particular K&N kit will noticeably increase the WRX's sound coming from the engine bay - a whitle/horn-like thromb on heavy throttle and you'll hear the boost bypass on heavy throttle lift-off. To balance this perhaps-overwhelming sound, I'd recommend [with any Subaru] the installation of aftermarket exhaust. ***Or - alternatively, I was absolutely delighted to discover that the WRX's boxer engine is so smooth-sounding that you can unleash [almost exactly] the sound of an aftermarket exhaust kit by loosing the bolts between the mufflers and the exhaust pipes coming from the catcons and then install 3-5 washers as spacers to bleed some exhaust tone right before the mufflers. Amazingly, I've seen zero disadvantage to this trick technique (no harsh sound or fumes - just pure boxer engine sound!). I bought some stainless steel exhaust tips to put the icing on the cake and have been really impressed.Installation is easy if you have a few tools (those needed are listed on the K&N website). I would highly recommend K&N cold air intake.

Woke up the Hemi....
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Daytona edition. I had an El Cheapo cold air intake that i got off eBay and while it did work a bit it was super cheap and low quality. I bought this when it was on sale for $299 I believe and honestly was skeptical that it would do anything more than the one I had on it. I was dead wrong. You do get what you pay for and this thing is excellent quality construction, well designed and easy to install. The first hard pull I did was eye opening for such a small, bolt on Item. It works wonderfully and sounds amazing.

Good Product
I put this on an 08 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. Had a buddy who bought the spectre version, and wasn't happy. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money on this one. First and foremost, the mileage jump is great. I have seen about a 3-4 mpg jump so far. Definitely an increase in throttle response too, however mostly only in the high RPM. Sound is always a bonus too, especially paired with the straight pipe. Overall pretty happy. Install was pretty easy. Spent more time taking out the old airbox than installing this new intake. Everything fit as it should but I would always recommend going back and checking torques, connections, and placement after driving it for a day or two.

Fit well. Added more noise than I expected.
It fit well and was easy enough to install on my 2008 Ram 1500 with 5.7 Hemi. I had watched an install video before ordering so I knew what to expect. It adds more noise under load than I expected. It gets LOUD in the truck when the RPMs are high. I'll need ear-plugs for everybody when I'm towing my travel trailer up a hill.

Dodge RAM 2003 HEMI
Das einzige, was ich bemängels kann, ist, dass ich ihn nicht schon früher gekauft habe. Sound und Leistung einfach perfekt. Hab auch einen in meinem Jeep GC Hemi, auch hier nur zu empfehlen.

Good buy! SOUNDS FRIGGING AMAZING!
Installing the censor into the grommet is BS. Coule tight spaces to get it done but not too bad of an install. Great sounds and responsiveness on the throttle. Haven't noticed much change in gas mileage but the sound is well worth it.
