Its got some weight to it, not some cheap diecast molded piece, this is a very durable, beautifully designed item. I'm using it for cremains, the rubber ring helps for a tight seal.Large loophole to use another cord if one so chooses, it looks like a hand carved, wonderfully true to form piece of Buddhism.

I read the other reviews and I was a little cautious. It's beautiful and well made. I do wish that it had more threads on the cap. Some of the reviews stated that it comes unscrewed so when I got it I just gave it a tight twist but not to tight to make it strip. So far after wearing it almost daily for a few months it has not come unscrewed or lost. I don't wear it in the shower or sleeping but I can't imagine it would make a difference. I plan on buying a few more as gifts.

Heavy duty. It won't attract a magnet. I don't know what it's made of but it's heavy.Here's it's inner dimensions so other buyers can tell what it will hold: The depth of the lower body is 1 & 1/8".The depth of the upper body, or cap, beyond the threads is 3/16". The width of the cylinder within the threads is 5/16".So, Assembled and screwed tight enough to not rattle loose it will accept a relic up to 1 and 5/16" long and 5/16" wide.

I dig the aesthetic but it's not very functional. It really needs a deeper thread to give me any confidence to hold anything of importance, like medicine, or a loved ones ashes. I would also have liked to see a rubber O-ring to make it air and water tight. Even though I won't keep anything in it I am going to keep it just to wear.

I have medicine in mine that I need to carry at all times. Very secure. Thick chain. Love the length of the chain also.
