REP FITNESS Bumper Plates for Strength and Conditioning Workouts and Weightlifting

Stop googling for bumper plates and buy this set. Lots of reviews in smells and oil coating....yes, they smell like bumper plates, yes they're coated, like every other bumper plate. Get a paper towel and make some gains.

Perfect: There were zero molding flaws on the 15 and 25 pound plates. When molds are dented, the result is bumps on the rubber. They were perfect. And there was zero flash-trash were bits of rubber are molded in that were release agent contaminated. The result of that can be bits that flake off.I aired the plate out outside for a few hours, then washed in hot water with Dawn dish soap to remove mold release that gave them a greasy feel. They washed up very nicely and I recommend a microfiber cloth for that and a soft brush or old tooth brush to get in the corners of the raised lettering. That seemed to eliminate odor very well.With all of the mold release agent used, I do not understand how the raised lettering white paint adheres. None came off with the washing.So execution seems perfect.And this brand has internal reinforcements that prevent the molded inserts from twisting out of the rubber. That can happen with drop abuse, more so with lighter/thinner plates.[Unrelated: I found that one end of my [old] Mpex Olympic bar is not only over sized [2 inch diameter] but tapered as well. So I am in the market for new bar and with some research I see that this problem has occurred for others. At first I suspected one of the weights was tight then my machinist's calipers showed me were the problem was. My old Mpex plates were sloppy enough that the problems with the bar were hidden. The problem with the one end of the bar also makes the use of clamp style clamps somewhat impossible and may be behind some reports of plastic clamps failing immediately.]Written by an Engineer.

I bought these for my new home gym to replace my rusty 40+ year old iron weights and couldn't be happier. They arrived UPS and were packaged well, just as the dumbbells I purchased from Rep. Some people mention that they have a smell, (very slight if at all) I've got some news.. All rubber smells including the rubber you put on or in your body, so just keep it away from your face and you'll be fine. Over all I have been super happy with the items I've purchased from Rep.

I searched around for a bit and read the reviews. These are worth every dollar! No damages. They were delivered perfect although my mail lady had a fit. But other than that everything was perfect. I let them air out for a day and wiped them down. No problems. Best plates out there for the money. Don't go cheap on plates. Especially if you are going to work out because they are investment in you. You don't want to turn around and buy another set 6 months later. Buy from this company.

I wanted to wait a while before judgement on these. Here's what I think about them:Good-- these are very well constructed, I would say they are as well built as my RFs and my Valor's. The 15s and the 10s don't taco at all! I've dropped them from chest high (~5ft) with weights between 160 - 225 with no issues. None. No marks, no scuffs, no damage to the core. I've weight the weights on a high quality scale; all of the weights were within 1/10th of a lb.The bad-- like most rubbers, there is a smell that takes a while to fade...not much of a big deal really.I would recommend these to anyone who is looking to improve their home gym or private studio.

I don’t know how these don’t get anything but five stars. I was doing a lot of research for bumper plates and to be honest the main reason I went with these was because they were on amazon and I got free shipping. Damn I’m glad I did because these are incredible. They are so well made and seem to be durable as hell. Every one of them was perfect and I didn’t get the smell other reviewers were talking about. Although they are in my garage. The smell may be bad if they were inside but they are made of rubber so that’s to be expected. I love these plates. I was so excited to do deadlifts when they came. I got them in the mail in three different delivery’s. They came 3 days sooner than expected. Don’t hesitate and stop researching other plates. Just buy these you won’t regret it.

I absolutely love this set in our newly constructed, complete home gym. The bumper plates look and feel great, and a minor shipping issue was promptly rectified by Rep directly. They were awesome to deal with, and went above and beyond...great experience. The plates did have the expected rubber smell on arrival, but we left them outside to air out for a few days before bringing them inside. Much of the smell was gone at that point, however it did still smell just like a gym for a few more days inside our home gym (20x15 room size). Now a week later, no more rubber smell! We couldn't be more pleased, and would easily recommend the product and the Rep company. We also purchased the matching Olympic weight tree from Rep (through Amazon) and are equally pleased.

These are made well and haven't deformed, work great, however they are still off gassing a smell. I have a room in my home that is my gym. I had read other were having issue with the smell so I left them out on my patio that had good air flow for some weeks. The strong smell went away so I brought them in the house and if I close up my gym room the off gassing take over the entire room. I have to open the windows or leave the door open to let the air circulate.I bought these so that I could deadlift at smaller weights. Once I'm able to use my 25 plate for deadlifting I'll get rid of these, because having to still air our the room all of the time is annoying and let's be real, should it still be off gassing 9 months later?
