There is a look-alike on the market which is a few dollars cheaper but instructions are terrible and pieces did not fit - never worked. For a few dollars more this one comes with detailed clear instructions and the all the pieces fit well. Spend the few dollars and get this model and you will be happier

Bought these ages ago to give as Christmas presents to a five year old and a nine year oldWith parental help, the 5 year old enjoyed making this and seeing the mechanism and I believe that the nine year old managed to Co struct with little help Really nice clock and educational

This was bought for my 7 year old who is loving clocks at the minute. Was easy enough to build with an adult being present but more written instructions than visual so a bit harder for a child.Haven't quite worked out the chime, its not going every 15mins from the hour -off 5mins. Requires a play about I think. Also the pendulum will just stop for no reason even when there is plenty of go left in the gear spring.Apart from that though, good buy. My son gets to see how gears and cogs work and can take apart and rebuild easily himself learning as he goes.

Great toy that my great grandson loved at first sight. He sat right down and worked on putting it together. He just turned 4. Would recommend.
