Complete Biblical Hebrew Beginner to Intermediate Course: A Comprehensive Guide to Reading and Understanding Biblical Hebrew, with Original Texts (Teach Yourself)

I am interested in this book but I would like some idea what’s in in before laying out my cash. How about a table of contents and a few pages so we have some idea what is in the booki.I was visiting my daughter in London and saw this in a book store - and looks pretty good. Good layout, good order of introducing concepts, good exercises - I like it and will be reading through it - a nice review of introductory Hebrew grammar with helpful exercises and an answer key.A look inside at a table of contents would have simplified things.

As another reviewer commented, it is difficult to know anything about a book when you are not given a "Look Inside" option. A cynic might believe that someone at Amazon, or the author herself, had serious doubts about the public response to this textbook ("Let's see what's behind Door Number 1," after you have already selected it). The "Look Inside" option is one of the best features in shopping for books at Amazon. Conversely, I am very reluctant to order any book to which I am not allowed a preview, if I don't already know something about it. For new textbooks like "Complete Biblical Hebrew", it really is a crap shoot, especially at a hefty $44 price tag. I did order it, and it arrived today. After I have looked it over more closely, I will add an update. Nevertheless, the current remarks stand on their own. A "Look Inside" option should be a sine qua non for any textbook, and the absence of such does not inspire confidence. By the way, this is a common failing with many of the Teach Yourself books.

This is a slightly rearranged version of the earlier 2006 edition. The pages have increased in their overalldimensions while decreasing by 40+ pages. It can be purchased at a significantly lower price elsewhere.
